John Stones transfer saga

Thank god someone read what I said

The point I have been trying to make is that footballers are employees and a such are covered by the very same employment legislation as everyone else.

If you look back at my posts this all kicked off by someone suggesting that Everton would be going to law and my point, although I guess not made well, was that such a course would fail although there were grounds to complain re tapping up

Footballers contracts of employment are what I believe are categorised as fixed term contracts. employees who are on such contracts can give notice to quit. the issue then would be around the players registrations and that's where compensation would kick in

I think mate you need to familiarise yourself with Article 17 of the FIFA Transfer Regulations.

Except very few - if any footballers have ever done that - and I would bet an awful lot of money that John Stones isn't going to 'make a legal stand'.

It's nonsense. It's not the way football works.

Irrespective the employee can be considered akin to salvery ( that's what I said from the off) if he/she doesn't have the ability on their part to unilaterally terminate the arrangement
They had the unilateral ability to not sign the agreement in the first place.

Some footballer earning millions per year on a fixed term contract that they willingly signed is as far away from slavery as you can get ffs. It's. A ridiculous soundbite put out there by media beauts like Jason bleeding Cundy. I nearly crashed my car driving home from the match last night, listening to him pontificate about the Stones issue.

you can bully me on the internet as much as you want for thirty-forty grand a week whatever he is on. Crying!!!??? what a shame lad when I was 21 I was in the armed forces taking home about a £900 a month he needs to get a grip. This drama is going to go to the wire with no doubt leaving Everton in a crap position as usual with plenty for the media to ramble on about. Thank God last nights game was a good old fashioned cup tie that was entertaining and exciting because modern football really is starting to put me off, its sad not just being about 90 minutes on a saturday afternoon anymore.

LIKE AND SHARE IF U THINK SOLDIERS ARE DER BRAVEST.

You're a super hero mate, what an absolute champion that everyone should aspire to be.... :coffee:

I wonder in what context then?

Apparently a few loons were harrassing him. A few other players were there. Kone had his photo taken with a fan. Naismith protected Stones and pulled him away. There's grainy video not showing much at all doing the rounds.

A nothing situation being made out to be something. Stones isn't going to stand there and start giving chapter and verse about the whole saga in a service station to some random fans late at night. There's no proof about the silly suggestion Stones was 'crying' either. People embellish stories for RTs/likes.

Literally nobody's arsed.

I think the best outcome would be that Stones withdraws his transfer request and makes a statement on the lines of " didn't realise how valued I am by the club and its fans" etc..

why because that would make everything alright and lets forget what he has done.
he wants out get over it, get in the right transfer fee and get rid

BADLY WORDED RANT.
He's handed in a transfer request and fans are hurt, that is understandable. I don't agree with giving players abuse but that is part of the game, every team has a minority of idiotic fans and its happens to every player at some point - no matter what club you play for, what league they're in or how big a talent they are. By handing in a transfer request he has publicly expressed a desire to leave and force a move and that stings the fans who love this great club. Me personally i will cheer, clap and sing his name and the name of any player wearing our shirt regardless of there situation (except McGeady.... he is just god awful) but some fans will shout abuse at him because that's all they know how to do. It's bang out of order but equally you pay me 30 grand a week and you can call me all sorts of names. I won't hear you anyway through my diamond encrusted Beats headphones!
As for Stones he will find it hard and will no doubt cry but he'll be a better player for it in the long run and hopefully he can be that better player with us.
What really (add expletive of choice) me off is this attempt to twist the whole saga into ammo against the board. Suggesting that he's crying in a service station because the board are forcing him to be the bad guy. Fan's surrounding him like Columbo shouting "don't worry John fella, we know it's not you, it's Big Bad Bill" to which Stones cries a single tear and is dragged away by a hooded (suspected Scottish Albino) man before he can reveal where the Arteta Money is! what total Bull-turd.
If he was caught crying it would have been because he was made to play in hostile conditions and told he can't have his move.... no secret agenda, no watergate scandal. Just a 20yr old boy upset after what was, up until now the toughest night of his career so far.
