John Stones transfer saga

Time will tell but I think you will find there isn't any money till someone is sold meaning either the end game was always going to start when JS put in a transfer request

Repeating my post from earlier in this thread, I concur. Everton had 28mio of debt maturing in the May 2015 year. Assume paid off and you get the following cash flows

Bank Balance open 18mio
Cash from 2015 ops 20 mio
Debtors money received 30mio
Creditor monies paid (10 mio)
Lukaku payment (12mio)
Barry (plus odds and sods) (5mio)
Finance costs (4mio)
Debt Repayment (28 mio)
Cash from 2016 ops to date (0)
Deulofeu (4mio)
Sth American guys (5 mio)

Overall (Bank Balance now) NIL

So any body coming in post these latin american blokes was either going to have to be a loan, or funded from fresh debt

Whats the bet their next offer will be lower than their last? "The player wants out so we're not going to offer you the same amount..."

I agree with a previous poster, offer him to UTD or City for 5 mill less than Chelsea's last offer.
Has he actually put in a transfer request. According to some of the media this morning he is considering it ?

What is the point of keeping Stones , for him to get dogs abuse and for his ( and the teams ) performance to suffer other than making a point.

# cut your nose off to spite your face

If this had happened last year and Chelsea had offered us £10 million + Lukaku for Stones I would have been happy. They'd also probably be looking to loan Stones out this summer.

Fact is we have been told we don't need to sell. If that's the case then if Stones is sold we should have something like £50 million to spend in a week, must be able to buy Rooney and half the wigan team for that?

Or player sales

To be fair if we do start some bidding war and with the speed in which Everton get transfers done we could quite easily let this thing drag out past next Tuesday and keep him.

"Sorry Jose, our fax machine is on the blink."

Because we still owe Lukaku money and the new debt repayments are due. Each season a short term loan, in addition to our larger ongoing debt, is taken out for operational costs. Its very convenient that we've had so many last minute transfers out, leaving us with little or no time to buy replacements eg. Marcus Bent replacing Rooney.

Football is rotten to the core. We'll not see much of any fee received for Stones.
I don't disagree with you, but it's not really relevant to the point I made.
I was responding to a post (and there have been a lot in a similar vein overnight) which suggested that the board had somehow convinced Stones to put in a transfer request so that he would take the heat rather than the board. That is what I am struggling to understand.

Read the above....

He won't be going to City. they are well stacked with expensive CDs.

Let's just suppose he is offered to Man Utd for less and he will know, his agent will know, the whole football community will know about the fee. He quite simply says no I want to go to wherever and at that point clubs will play a similar game with Everton . it's an interesting line to take but it would backfire as sure as eggs are eggs
perhaps @Eggs should make comment here..."we're due a penalty"???

As I said, I don't really disagree with you, but it is still not relevant to the point I was making.
Why would John Stones put in a request and be classed as a Judas by the fans if it is the board that want to sell him?

Roberto is in a new job and I am sure he will get to understand how Everton work. I know exactly how Everton work." - D.Moyes
