John Stones transfer saga

Shouldn't you be on your own forum.

FYI your plastic support are in for a warm welcome come 2 weeks time, IF Stones goes and again it's on our terms, Lukaku will steam roll the kid, our defence can't handle big strikers and neither will yours.
Like Costa last year? Let that sink in!!

If we accept the transfer request and sell now, you're dead wrong in your assessment.

If we don't, you'd be right.

We'll see won't we.

Ha yes I guess so.....don't think we'll sell for less than 38m....board know his potential worth, Chelsea know his worth...and despite the transfer request, I don't think Stones is the type to throw a diva fit.....

Perfect outcome right now would be Man City come in with £40m, and offer to loan him back to us for the season....

John stones is worth more to everton on the pitch then the money in the bank. Let's face it Martinez wouldn't be given the full amount anyway. We are desperately short at centre half as it is. We should inform stones we are not in a position to sell him (we aren't) and that he should give us at least one more season. Stones can't really argue with that, his place in the England squad is at risk if he downs tools and refuses to play. Something I don't think he would do. Look how suaraz treated the RS that summer, he was told he wasn't going and rewarded them with his best ever season. Stones should do likewise.

One more thing. We don't sell Stones now and play hard ball then I don't see Mourinho coming back for him until next summer. Chelsea need CBs one way or the other. They may look elsewhere in January as its a more expensive market at that time. This could mean Everton auctioning Stones next summer. Sell it to anyone but Chelsea I hope. Hope Mourinho is sacked on 3rd September.

I think this will be one of the reasons why Stones has decided to request a transfer. Clearly clubs would still be in for him next season if he even has a half decent season this time around, but if Chelsea go out and get someone else in, they may give up on Stones specifically.

The media campaign for Stones to go to Chelsea is one of the most over the top i've ever known and with his agent in his ear as well, Stones has probably decided he'd love to work with Mourinho and doesn't want to miss that chance. Even as an Evertonian I can accept why he want to go there, it's just not great timing at all.

It's a shame but we'll get over it. I just hope we don't give in to the Media and Chelsea and make him stay until January at least. Don't want the Mirror etc to be happy in any of this after the way they've behaved. Patting eachother on the back and high fives all round after pissing all over one of the finest clubs the country has produced for one that's been backed by a Russian Billionaire and put in no effort whatsoever in achieving what they have in the past 10 years other than being gifted transfers along the way.

You seem to have gone temporarily mad and forgot Bill Kenwright owns Everton there.

He owns it, But I think he's a pu
we are all everton fans through and through, we would all dream to play at goodison in royal blue and are blindly loyal to our club. John Stones isn't an evertonian but a young footballer who has had a meteoric rise in his footballing career over the past 2 years. I think he is an exceptional talent, probably the best young player I've seen at everton in 30 years. I hate the fact that we can't keep him, i would love to have him here for longer but sadly Chelsea are a bigger pull for a 21 year old footballer. He now has a chance of competing for trophies and being in the spotlight of champions league football.

My fear for him as a player is he still makes lots of naive mistakes and this will be highlighted and magnified by playing at a top four club. However for a lad who rocked up at finch farm on january deadline day of 2013 in a dodgy woolen jumper and run of the mill car he looked more like he was coming for an interview to drive our flashy new blue tractors. I can't blame him for having his head turned. The chance of playing with Hazard, Pedro and Fabregas and walking out at Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich is not something your average footballer would turn down.

Personally i think the club has been waiting for this outcome and sadly i do expect jonny evans to come in as soon as he goes. For us it will feel like another nail in the coffin and proof that you get nowhere in the premier league unless you chuck 100's of millions at it.

Fully agree. I also think there or some of us Everton fans would also do the same thing but would not admit it as the chance will never arise.

Been out all evening in the car and Talkbollocks are absolutely loving this, Durham broke it and he was giving it "our sources told you weeks ago he wanted to join Chelski".

Wanking over it the entire station.

Because we're the ones in control. We are playing this very well despite what many say on here.

By letting it get to the last week of the transfer window, at which point he comes out with a transfer request? Playing it well?

If the club were playing it well, it wouldn't have got to this stage and Stones would have continued to play ball by keeping it hush. To make him put in a transfer request, he must have been told he could go at the right price and is now getting panicked. If we had told him we would not be selling him, then he would have put a request in earlier.

We've now let it drag on to the point where if our valuation is met, we have seven days to replace him and STILL get the the three players Martinez wanted. That's far from playing this very well.

Chelsea's aggressive pursuit of Stones on the back of their behaviour in both wins last season will make Goodison a bear pit in 2 weeks time. Should they succeed in robbing Stones I would not like to be a Chelsea fan travelling up for the game. I remember the scenes when Rooney returned, fans fighting on the train pre match and then all the trouble in Everton Valley. I guess the early kick off is a blessing for the southerners. I still expect Everton to hammer them on the pitch though.
