John Stones transfer saga

He didn't appear to be a player who looked like he was looking for a move either yesterday or last Sunday, certainly not in the way Lescott basically gibbed us all off publicly at Goodison against Arsena.

He certainly did not.

He played well yesterday and it was unfortunate he was embarrassed for their second goal.

FWIW I don't think he will be going this window.

Yep, its why Clubs looking to buy him are not really going to cough up the money the board are looking for, just yet! Watfords second was down to his experinece, those mistakes wont be afforded elsewhere after a big transfer.

Not that they'll take any notice, and I'm no wordsmith, but;

Hello

As a regular MOTD viewer, I'm aware of the sort of complaints you regularly receive. I'm not concerned about where my team Everton are in the running order, nor am I particularly bothered about how much time we're allotted. I'm not easily offended you see; this is my first ever official complaint.

I do however, care about Everton player John Stones. I stress that he's an Everton player, because every man and his dog has been trying to sell John Stones to Chelsea this summer, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that we don't have a say in the matter.

I thought I could at least watch trusty MOTD, a platform which has up until now been above such speculation, without having to listen to yet another media exercise in unsettling an Everton player. The player has been silent, the manager has insisted he isn't for sale, so why did Alan Shearer feel so inclined to speak the way he did last night? And why did Gary Lineker even broach the subject? More importantly, why is there an accompanying article on your website today?

I've genuinely never witnessed such an aggressive media campaign, and I thought you'd be above actively adding fuel to the fire. The whole thing has left a very bitter taste.

Our manager, Roberto Martinez, has been left seething due to Jose Mourinho's comments, and I've no doubt that he'll be just as angry after hearing your 'analysis' last night.

I think a full apology to our manager, and to our club, is in order.

Well played! Kudos for your restraint, too. ;)

Good on ya, Cahill ;)

I've given up with football. I will always watch/check Everton's score, but honestly what's the point? I've made the decision not to watch any other team's matches this season. That said my mate text me about Motd last night, so I watched it the hawking of Stones this morning. After a summer of hearing how Sterling is worse than a mass murderer for wanting to win things, Stones is being talked up to leave. These idiot pundits bemoaned the fact that Chelsea won the league at a canter last year but hope they sign Stones and weaken Everton further.

I hate the hierarchy in football these days. There is no competition really. A mass boycott of the TV outlets and media is required to even things up, but that will never happen. As long as there are enough glory hunting whoppers watching United and Liverpool, alongside neutrals, then Everton will need a billionaire to compete. Had enough of it.

It'd be great if Jags came out and said something along the lines of:

"Learn off Terry?? Remind me who's the current starting centre back for England?"

All he'd learn off Terry is how to say words that rhyme with bigger and how to hound the referee in to making decisions in your favour.

If it came to it, I'd rather see him at United anyway.

The more I think about what Shearer and Murphy said last night, the more angrier I get.

That was a terrible insult to Jags, saying right out that he will learn "so much" playing alongside Terry.

Sideshow Bob and Cahill didn't seem to learn a lot playing alongside him.

Terry himself was carried by Carvalho for years.

John Stones: John Terry comments anger Roberto Martinez

"That is illegal," said Martinez.

"The rules don't allow you to comment on players who are registered at other clubs in that open manner. That is disappointing."

Premier League rules state that clubs "will respect the contractual obligations and responsibilities of each other's employees and not seek to breach these or to make illegal approaches".

Can't believe I haven't heard one person in the media pick up on the fact that Mourinho is (arguably) the worst manager in the league for nurturing young talent.

Everyone goes on and on about how Stones is BOUND to improve working under him... based on what, exactly?!
Spot on one bad game, and he would be out on loan like Lukarku was and eventually sold for prfit , and we could not afford to buy him back maybe end up playing in a crap red shirt over the park - its happened before eg David Johnson, and Steve McMahon !
