Player Valuation: £70m
Who has actually strengthened?

Apart from City. Villa haven't really, and I would say Liverpool certainly haven't, and neither have Man U. Arsenal are leaking players like no tomorrow, Chelsea are pretty much as you were. Spurs are kind of investing, and then you have the usual suspects passing mediocre around, oh and the new boys coming up spend a little.

I'm not concerned about the season, looking forward to it on Sat.

Spot on. Said the same this evening to one of my mates. Villa is also weakened. West Ham is status quo. Wigan is also weakened. We are in better position than last season. Cheere up !

But Villa and Spurs have bigger squads. If we can sign a replacement for Lescott, a quality midfielder, even Elm would do, and a FU*KING right back!!!!!!!!!

We will be there or thereabout come may.

4th-6th i mean by that

I believe there will be a few that will point out that only Everton matter and to heck with what others do. I actually agree with you mostly although GJ at Liverpool is an improvement and £30 million for Xabi laaa is amazing money. Jury is out on Gerrard and a gang of five battering 1 man, Michael the concrete hammer Shields, their title aspirations, Alberto Aquilani (the last one).
I have oodles of faith that Moyes will sign a couple of players yet, every club and their players agents are sat waiting for City to call - this anomaly has affected the 'transfer money grab' worse than anything I can remember.
How many Galacticos have our supposed contemporaries added? I do not want Senderos though, no way, no how.

We'll see whether or not these teams have strengthened when the season starts, it's only natural for the so called 'positive' Evertonian's to write off anyone other teams sign to make us feel better about our situation.

'Delph's not all that good anyway...Aquilani's Italian so it's obviously going to take him 5 years to adapt...Downing's no better than Milner and Young anyway...Tevez was a Man utd flop, he can't be good...Naughton is going to Spurs, they haven't had a good player in years.'

The list goes on and on. I don't really care to be honest, the teams that are continually mentioned are still trying to improve and are actually signing players. We, as of this moment in time haven't and it's worrying as David Moyes has said himself.

Newcastle spent big the last 5 years, strengthened apparently. What happened to them?

You don't need to spend £100m to have a good side.

No you don't, no ones saying that. We need to strengthen though, the manager of EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB has made that very clear.
