It's relevant that a club with a skint/joke board like us can't afford to be throwing £5 million around on non internationals for international teams that aren't doing that well. You also have to factor in that if he were playing at international level at least he would be occasionally tested as appose playing in the SPL where Celtic start the season 10/1 in to win the league, whilst getting knocked out of any form of Europe by HSK Dog n Duck B EST 2001

Its down to arrogance.

Van Dijk is literally 1000x the player Glenn Loovens is. What's the relevance of that? Loovens was capped for the Netherlands when at Celtic. Van Dijk hasn't been capped because some international managers frown upon the Scottish game. He is clearly good enough though

Most PL clubs are back in training on Monday yet not one has bid for this CB if they could get a (insert word) CB for £5 millionish he would have already left, the only club I have seen him linked with is Sunderland.

not saying he's good mate. i'm totally fine with not signing Van dijk, just wasn't sure where you were going with the whole holland's 3rd in euros bit

Different managers have different tastes? Also, he needs to be in a bigger league than the SPL.

Exactly. Come on Blues where is your/our sense of pride. £5 million plus a player for a totally untested one. If he was of PL calibre teams like Chelsea an UTD. Would be in for him to replace Terry and pick any UTD CB.
