Kyle Naughton

From what my mate gathered from Naughton it seems his head has been turned and he's warmed to the idea of Spurs

He's not been officially allowed to speak to us(although he's been to Moyes' gaff)
He's not been to Goodison or Finch Farm or met any of the players

He HAS:

Been to WHL, liked the ground, facilities etc
Met harry and had a 'right laugh' with him
Met some of the players at Spurs

What it seems is fairly simple, akin to the Kirkby vote fiasco - if you've only seen one side of the coin, how can you make an informed decision?

Combined with the fact that he's not allowed to visit Everton or speak to any of our representatives AND his agent is pushing for a move to Spurs I don't think we have much chance unless we agree to match the £5m agreed with Utd and Spurs.
As I previously mentioned, he now just wants to get a deal sorted and is not waiting around for us now.

I also forgot to mention in my earlier post, Moyes asked him to hand in a transfer request to push it through but he feels he owes Utd and would be disloyal as he's been there since 9yo

Its not that - Spurs will be paying £8m for Naughton and Walker. They won't sign Walker on his own.

So essentially £3m for a player with less than 180 minutes of Championship football to his name.

That is why Spurs have the upper hand. Its the equivalent of us having Man City bid £30m for Lescott. And Chelsea bidding £50m for Lescott and Gosling - but insisting they would only be interested in a package deal. Clearly, we would favour the Chelsea bid.

If Naughton genuinely wanted to come to us - he would do. Afterall, Everton agreed a fee.

All this furore, it took Baines two years to get into our first team and he had a couple of years of Prem expierence. If he signed he would be lucky to make 15 appearences for next season.

By the time he becomes forgotton at Spurs we will nip in with a fee and take him anyway.

Hes a good prospect but its not like we're signing Messi or Inesta is it.

Coleman has looked tidy this preseason as well.

Neville will be in the team anyway.

Alright Mr Common sense

Baines was injured for large parts of his first seaso wasn't he? That coupled with Lescotts form at LB meant he couldn't get a game.

I think Moyes sees Neville in Midfield, so Naughton would only have to compete with Hibbert (and Coleman if he comes good)(y)

Maybe he's got a client, friend or ex-footballer in Marseilles and Liege as well?

Barlow, what's the latest on Cana and Defour, mate? What do your contacts say? Cheers. (y)

Also, can you ask St Peter if he's got any word on when the apocalypse is happening? I'd like to be prepared like.
