I think we need to realise we're not a big club anymore. I bet most of them Kiev fans never knew we've won anything or even heard of us. A bit like us watching Spanish football on a sunday and seeing levante and just thinking there [Poor language removed].

Sad but true.

The only optimism at the moment is we have a really good young 'spine' as people call it, with Stones, McCarthy, Barkley, Lukaku.

Let's hope this season is a blip and we can play more like last season with a few additions

Actually saw a tweet doing the rounds that we've spent the most without a trophy in the whole of Europe. Twitter, though, so it's questionable but I'd be interested to see if that is true.

They haven't really made any big names signings though I guess. Whereas we've splashed 25+ on Lukaku, 15+ on Fellaini etc. Like I said, aint got a clue if it's true.

I thought you meant spent the most years without a trophy. Even then I realised they still won the Championship a few years ago.

It depends on the time frame, tbh. But if it's this year than city, if it's the last 5 years than spurs and qpr. If it's the last 20 then leeds, newcastle, sunderland, west ham, middlesbrough.

I have seen 3 titles 2 fa cups 1 ecwc. ok only attended 3 of them. seen loads of near misses. but wouldn't swap anything I've experienced with everton (outside family) for anything.

Guess so, obviously didn't think it was true instantly but it certainly got me thinking. Got me thinking how utterly dog we are.

Until the bottom falls out of football we'll never win anything again. Ill be surprised if we even qualify for Europe. Finances are everything, we have none. And even if the finances of football all go up in smoke, we're one of the candidates to simply cease to exist due to how poorly we're run.

Modern football is pointless for us, and I've finally accepted it. If I felt happy with my general life id stop watching entirely, and that has to be the aim. It's just not worth it
