Martinez Out: Post Stoke poll

I have to wonder at his point: if Martinez is getting the sack and it's all over for him...why are the people who want that to happen all agitated and running round like headless chickens abusing others?

It's like a lynch mob has been denied their prisoner - they realise it's not over by a long chalk...that their blood lust has to be kept in check for at least a little while longer...and <whisper it> they mightn't even get to have the lynching in the end if Martinez gets a result against Newcastle.

It's a hideous spectacle.

You don't have to get involved any more than the one's who want him out have too, its a fans forum, for fans to speak about what they want. As for abusing others, that in the main should end up with bans, name calling is for the weak. I don't mean things like deluded, but some of the stuff on this forum in the past few days has been pretty poor IMHO.

Im not sure what you mean here mate, I can see wehy that team at that time finished in the bottom half and worse, I can't understand how even a basic/competent PL manager has us about 15 points behind Stoke and 11 behind West Ham.

Yep, I see that, but in my honest opinion squad for squad we are under achieving more than any other club this season we are at least 7 places below where we should be. That's a massive amount in a 2 team league.

He aint going to go this time around, we will have to see what the Newcastle game brings, I hope we win get safe, and then I suppose we will have to see what he does with the squad in the summer.

I can't see him going unless we look in a serious relegation dogfight, that will come down to our form or more than likely the teams below us form.

Its such a shame, especially when we consider the long term effects of this bad season, with lack of prize money per position and players who may end up wanting out, and that brings in the issue of whether he should be trusted to buy player as his record at the moment is shabby in that department also

Look, the fuming is going to get people nowhere.

If we beat Newcastle and go on to get safe soon after (which I think is the probable outcome) Martinez's job is safe. How could it not be when the same chairman allowed Moyes to stay on after dragging us down to the relegation zone in his second season and finishing it 17th?

Football fans are fickle. If you want to know how fickle they can be go and compare the poll results of this one with the one after the Arsenal game...and that's after a game against Stoke away that we all knew would be, as per, difficult. You know full well that if we beat Newcastle the percentage points would swing right back round the other way. Thank God footy forums dont make decisions on the running of a football club. We'd have about 20 managers per season.

There's only one way Martinez will go: if we fall above the drop zone by 3 points and games are running out.

Imo, the fume-fest has been premature and wasted.

He's staying as manager now, until the end of the season, and in all likelihood will be here next season.

I know that will have some gnashing their teeth in rage, but that's just tough sh1t really.
