Kenwright would only sack him if he felt he'd totally lost the dressing room.

If he's hearing about senior pro's openly questioning Martinez methods then he might feel as though he has to act, given the precarious league position.

But I'm certain he'd see it as a total last resort, and we'd have to be on the absolute precipice for him shoot him at this point.

Us as fans wanting him gone is merely our own opinion, it could only affect the possible outcome if it became vocal within the ground on a consistent basis, and that's not happened yet. A few boo's isn't the kopite'esque chanting for a head on a spike.

Assuming we do scrape out of it, I wouldn't be surprised if he went in the summer, via mutual consent though.

Having given the matter some thought, I am going to abstain this week.

This is because of the fact that now the penny has finally dropped with a critical mass of fans that EFC is indeed involved in a relegation struggle, I am hopeful that the manager and players will have a similar light bulb moment and we will see a new approach at home to the Barcodes.

It will be just the same mate we all know it.

He should go - but who would you replace him with?

Moyes did extremely well in the transfer market spotting players and then getting the best out of them. His disciplined style brought consistent form around top 6 whilst never likely to go beyond that. One things he lacked was a 20 goal a season striker - Jelavic dried up completely

Martinez got lucky getting Lukaku at the very end of the transfer window - which effectively gave the Moyes team what it didn't already have - a top striker. That combined with a fresh approach, escape from the dourness and discipline of Moyes, created a wave of optimism and delivered over and above the Moyes team (what you'd expect with a top striker in there)

This season has been diabolical and it's clearly down to his tactics- somehow this talented squad has no confidence

Martinez never played at the top of the game. He is an excellent orator and his heart is very much in the right place - but he is a million miles off some other top level managers who have been there and done it both as players and managers

At Wigan, Martinez had limited resources vs the rest of the premier league teams which is why he was forgiven for ultimately sucumbing to relegation - even if he won the cup. He doesn't have that excuse here

Looking at the fixtures left - we should avoid relegation. However which players will then leave in the summer, and how will he bring back the team's confidence and find a playing philosophy, given that his existing one hasn't worked

And what about when it is exactly the same next Sunday? Which will all know it will be.

If he was to stay say until the end of next season. We would really be in danger of relegation. That is sort of saying we are not now. And I honestly think I would class him as my worst Everton manager in my time. Worse than Walker. At least he was over in a flash. End of the season he must go.

Yes, getting the picture now are we?

,,,and dont kid yourself about leaving in the summer. Why would that happen? There'd be a reasonable understanding that we'd had a great season followed by a poor one. The next target to hit for Martinez after safety is reached will be making a decent start to season three.

I agree with most of that,I wander why, if he hasn't already done so,Kenwright hasn't called the manager, coaches
and players together for a crisis meeting to try and sort this whole mess out, because it is a very serious crisis that
will affect the future of Everton football club.

Look, the fuming is going to get people nowhere.

If we beat Newcastle and go on to get safe soon after (which I think is the probable outcome) Martinez's job is safe. How could it not be when the same chairman allowed Moyes to stay on after dragging us down to the relegation zone in his second season and finishing it 17th?

Football fans are fickle. If you want to know how fickle they can be go and compare the poll results of this one with the one after the Arsenal game...and that's after a game against Stoke away that we all knew would be, as per, difficult. You know full well that if we beat Newcastle the percentage points would swing right back round the other way. Thank God footy forums dont make decisions on the running of a football club. We'd have about 20 managers per season.

There's only one way Martinez will go: if we fall above the drop zone by 3 points and games are running out.

Imo, the fume-fest has been premature and wasted.

He's staying as manager now, until the end of the season, and in all likelihood will be here next season.

I know that will have some gnashing their teeth in rage, but that's just tough sh1t really.
