What a record collection he could have though

Record number of points in premier league history

First Everton manager to get us knocked out of both domestic cups at first round of entry.

First Everton manager to get us relegated from the premier league.

^ only it wasn't average in the context of the league it competed in ffs. It was the 6th best side in the league, maybe 'great' was pushing it, but equally making out it was 'average' is attemtping to re-write history.

Great side was his statement was it not?

It was anything but a great side, Like I said, Credit goes to Moyes for pushing such a limited squad to its limits

Did I mention league position

If you think a team that has an ageing CB partnership in Jags and Distin and has Osman/Pienaar/Naismith/Gibson/Jelavic/Vic/Howard and Barkley is "Great" then that's up to you

Personally I think our team is bang average bar 3 or 4 players

Some people say the likes of Coutinho wouldn't get in our side

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that

MCarthy/Lukaku/Stones/Coleman/Baines/Kev - I count 6 good players, Players that you could see playing in a top 4 side, My mistake saying 4

Look at the rest of our squad Kone/Oviedo/Pienaar/Osman/Mcgeady/Atsu/Distin/Jags/Hibbert/Lennon/Howard/Robles/Alcaraz/Gibson/Besic

It really is a poor squad, Credit to Moyes having us near the top end of the table so often with what he had

I wouldn't dismiss Kone, Jags, Gibbo and Mo so easily

As an aside, I've also watched and re-watched games lately, solely focusing on LUKAKU alone... and it's shocking/disappointing for the most, the amount of times he 'asks'/shouts for the ball yet seemingly gets blanked. I'm not suggesting anything remotely sinister in this, it's how they're being encouraged to play. Arsenal, Sunday, we strung about 30 passes together at one point with the ARSE not getting a touch...

It was lovely.

And it went nowhere & served no purpose.

Like this season in many ways.

Anyway, I expect we'll know more later. Pffff.....

I agree. It was a case of "Olé!..Olé!..Olé!..Olé!..Olé!...Olé!..Olé!...O [Poor language removed]!!!

Sturridge/Markovic/Courtino/Sterling/Lallana would all walk into our first team
True but how long would they perform the way they do under Brenda's tutelage? The reason Coutinho is playing so well is because Brenda realized he wasn't playing to his strengths. Say what you like about Rogers, he knows a Plan B when he sees one. Bob would recognise one if it walked up and bit him on the leg!

Compare those players at Liverpool to Mcgeady/Osman/Pienaar/Barkley/Naismith

There's our major problem as an attacking unit, Our attacking midfield players Kev aside are utter tripe

Goodison needs to be roaring the lads over the line right now, rather than sitting on their hands because they think we're safe regardless. The Newcastle game needs to be like the Wimbledon game in 93/94 atmosphere wise

That is a very good post, Mikey and I agree with rhe most of it.

I would like to comment on this extract.

This is the paradox we have at Everton right now.

The whole point of you, me and everyone else roaring ourselves hoarse on Wimbledon Day was indeed to inspire passion in the players on the pitch.

Those players responded eventually after a very nervous opening.

But repond they did and they charged to the sound of the cannon.

If we make it a cauldron when the Barcodes come and the team proceed to play crab ball then that cauldron will pretty quickly come off the boil.

Starting tonight, we need to see Bobby show some fire in his belly and have a go at Stoke.

That means more forward passing.

That means a higher tempo.

That means shots on goal.

We the fans cannot do this alone.

We need a reason to believe......and only the team can give us that.

And at the moment Kev is tripe squared.
