If we're playing hypotheticals.

We're all assuming we'll end this season trophyless, out of europe and bottom half but safe right?

So you're arguing that even being clsoe to relegation is bad enough to need a change, if we also go the other way and get close to a trophy, say final or semi final would that balance it out?

I don't care about Europe when it comes to talking about his bread and butter performance. Continental competition is the "cherry on top".

I'm actually saying that if we came to four games left and were in danger of being relegated, I wouldn't even be able to see ANY logic in anyone wanting to trust Martinez to keep us up, and would flat out call anyone supporting him at that stage completely and utterly wrong, even if he did keep us up, as the risk to reward ratio of getting rid at that point pretty much swings to 100% risk if we kept him, as he'd had 34 bloody games to not be in that situation, so why stick for four more, knowing it's extremely likely to be the exact same thing, when you can twist and see what comes up.

I can understand (even if I disagree) people wanting to keep him right now, but keeping him in that scenario would be the very definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting something different to happen!

Well I don't think we'll be in that position but with 4 games to go being 17th and with a european final to play pleases me more than 10th and none.

Its not 2nd season hangover, its one season wonder.

Stoke and Newcastle will know there is a point going if they want it, Arsenal is the type of game we will play really well in but come away with a very unlucky zero points, just like we did at Man City and Chelsea.

I'm with @Allezfan here.

The point is to win trophies. Winning Europa > finishing top half.

That's not the question - 17th and in danger of relegation with four games to go, possibly meaning the destruction of our club, but it's all OK because we won a tin pot once.

Never used this word before, but that's amazeballs. Yeah that's how flabbergasted I am that literally anyone would take that deal.

I would.

Providing we didn't finish 17th the next season.
