You have to ask the board then why they aren't giving Martinez money and he's making free transfers.

He spent £34m in the summer. Regardless of whether we have money or not, we should not under any circumstances be interested in signing Tom Cleverley. Also we'll be making a lot of money from outgoing transfers so there's no excuse

This summer doesn't mean there will be a lot to spend. Mirallas sale who else will we sell and make a profit or get good money?

There's a reason Martinez wants to sign Cleverley it's as he's a free transfer

Could be any number of players depending on who is interested. McCarthy, Coleman, Stones. I don't think they will all leave, obviously, but I wouldn't be shocked to see 2 of the 4 go. Free transfer or not, it's a pointless addition to the squad. Most youth players could do what Cleverley does on the pitch. He really is THAT bang average

If we sell McCarthy we are well and truely screwed. I don't want sell any but Coleman. Would be the one before McCarthy. I agree I'm better than Cleverley he's crap but Martinez must like him.

He just needs to sort out a squad where no one rocks the boat,it's hard but if it means getting rid of a big player for a settled squad I'm all for that.

He needs to show the senior players - Howard,Jags, Barry, Osman...who is the boss. Starting with if they're playing [Poor language removed], drop em.

All the best managers can see when a player is not cutting it -even before the fans can.

I wonder who we can attract in the summer to replace Martinez. Yesterday he looked lost he seems way out of his depth, nice bloke but not good enough Im afraid. I really hope Martinez is the only outgoing face in the summer, this is the best squad we have had in years, its been `dumbed` down with this style of play and non-defence. If we get 40 points I would can him, no point dragging it out

If we can over haul our major peers (i.e. Stoke City and Newcastle) this season - a Herculean task granted, but not impossible -then I suspect subsequent pie charts and Venn Diagrams will depict a pretty content Everton fan base... and we can then put to bed these kneejerk 'Bobby Out!' polls.
When Barcelona come knocking for RM's signature (which is inevitable), I await with anticipation a fresh release of Martinez masks for us all to wear about the house on match day mornings.

This season as far as the PL is concerned has been a complete shambles.

To be where we are given the squad he's got at his disposal and the optimism we all had at the start of the season, is a massive disappointment and quite simply a huge failure, whichever way you try and dress it up.

Should he be sacked now? No, there's no gain at this point in the season.

Should his position be up for review in the summer? I think he's got questions to answer, and he should be pushed hard by Kenwright and made fully aware that he's fallen short in terms of what's expected in the PL. It's undoubtedly going to be a big summer for us with some outgoings and a rebuild on the cards as a result, the question Bill will have to answer is whether he trusts Martinez to do the rebuilding...........

its grim reaper time for Martinez, its just a matter of time. If we keep him it will be much of the same next year. The step up from Wigan was just to big for him. Everton FC must come first, the players look forlorn with the way they are asked to play, Martinez does not play to their strengths, it is becoming so see through its embarrassing. Teams are chomping at the bit to come to Goodison, we are there for the taking. Lack of action will cost us players wanting to move on. We are 5 points above the drop zone!

The usual suspects deluding themselves again I see.

Give it up. Martinez is staying. We're 12th and safe as houses. Putting teams away in style in Europe.

The war is over. You lost.

It's great being "safe as houses" isn't it. I'm so happy with the progress we've made since last season when we definitely weren't safe as houses

I think we should re-assess after our next two away games. I have been watching Everton for over 30 years, we are not some sort of `experiment` for Martinez to hone his skills with. I really think he is deluded to be honest, we need wins, it is that simple. For me yesterday was a show of things to come. Dropping Robles for Howard was a shocker, poor management, Lukaku was not used properly, buck stops with Martinez.

Like many others I was a Martinez fan, but the wheels fell off towards the end of last season, I think he is too nice a person to address these young, overpaid, egotistical players. I think best way forward is try to get the 40 points, end of the season `mutual consent`. If we keep him I fear next season, players leaving, replaced with Martinez signings truely frighteneing.

Here's an idea: take the good times with the bad times.

Otherwise you're being fickle.

I might be fickle, but I don't want to settle for mediocrity. What we're headed for at the moment is exactly that, as confirmed by being in a "safe" 12th place, something that the likes of Hull and West Brom should be happy with
