Well it's a 'Baked Corn Snack' so isn't technically a crisp, the fact that they used the word "extruded" gave me images of a paste being forced through a die (I may be way off the mark like) into the shape before baking, they didn't take us around the factory so I didn't actually see the production processes.

I know what you mean though, and in the chopped and formed sense that a lot of mech recovered chicken is used then yeah, but mech recovered chicken is more a process that gets all of the bits of chicken off a carcass isn't it ? as in the bits that would go in the bin ? whereas I don't think Monster Munch are made from the crap that would be binned.

I think they blast the chicken off with high pressure water. I can't see that being necessary with corn. I don't care, I'm eating those picked onion ones no matter what.

Good luck with the job.

In a bit Walkers yer fat kno8'eads.

Just got a rejection phonecall.

Gave me quite a bit of feedback...

Passed Mechanical Rig ... other guys didn't.

Said I passed all of the written test with a Very High Score (stressed the very and added "really high" score).

Passed the Group Exercise.

Said where I came a cropper was in the interviews when asked to give examples of things based around working as part of a team, they ask for specific examples from your previous work experience & can only go off the examples given, she said that they think that the only reason that I didn't have the answers that they wanted to hear was because as a Machinist I'd been working alone & then whilst self employed I work alone.

Good that they gave me as much feedback as they did tbh as I know where I need to add a bit of bull in future, and really they could've just sent me a 'No' email with no feedback, or like many others just not let you know at all.

Only offering positions to 2 of the 4 that went, they must view it that they can teach them the mechanical part of the job tbh if they failed the Mechanical Rig... which is actually what the job entailed.

Anyway, In a Bit Pepsi/Walkers.

*Switches Brand Preferences to Rola-Cola & Seabrooks.

Was that the place out in Pimbo mate? My Dad worked there for a contractor doing something with machines, in the end he was offered a job by Walkers themselves but found it so soul-less that he left and went back to his previous 'profession' - driving a taxi, with some part-time shop work on top, for less money.

He's always worked long hard shifts, so it must have been woeful to make him stop. Age was probably a factor though, sixty is time to sit back from the twelve hour shifts.

Might be a bullet dodged.

Yeah. thats the place
The actual 'Shift Pattern' which rotated over 2 weeks on days then nights, 12 hour shifts 6 til 6, work Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thurs then repeat on Nights was the 1 thing about the job that didn't appeal to me due to the impact on everything else, when on nights there's too much adjusting backwards & forwards, I've done it before & tbh didnt enjoy it.
It WAS good money though (£33,500) and quite a bit more than when I did it making wings for Airbus & having to drive to Llay every day (like working 14 hrs) a job I'd regard as having a higher skill level as well.

Still hoping I can get on the Railways though, I fully understand that the Railways have some strange start times as well but reading something published by ASLEF it appears that there is a lot more consideration given to the effect that Shifts have, both from a work point of view as it's a VERY safety driven industry but also the effect outside of work, it said that consideration was given to the fact that there was no point regulating the work hours for safety reasons but making it where the person could crash on the way home due to fatigue.

It did seem a decent work atmosphere at Walkers though tbh and the way that managers treated everyone, having worked for 'Engineering Dinosaurs' where you have the same status in their eyes as something from the Rag Bin it appeared a decent place to work. The fact that the HR took the time to give me some feedback as well suggests that Pepsico operate in a decent manner.

Always remember one thing, if they say you have to do a role you have never done previously, dont just say i have never done that, say something like i have never been in that position before but i am always open to learn new skills etc.....

Take the negative and throw a positive on the end of it.

Haven't been to the second interview yet - to be honest, I resumed my old job on Monday so am not overly fussed (I left over a pay dispute). I'm fairly confident for the upcoming interview though but if I got it, I would still be looking for other jobs.

Bad mercenary me.

Dont let me ever hear you slag off Lescott, Rooney or possibly Mirallas. I will hold you to this.

Good Luck for your second interview, if there is a decent female in the interview who asks how far you would go, just pull your pants down and ask who's next to ride the Administrator.

Some just cant take the joke. lol
Im still waiting for the call back......

 Thanks Paul, this was from 2009 though (y)

As for Lescott! https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/forgiving-players.52826/#post-1713838

Absolutely.

I got a new job last week and one of the first questions they asked was about "young and lack of experience". Use it as a positive. More open to ideas unlike others who may be more stubborn and reluctant to change. Can bring in fresh new ideas, more up to date with recent changes etc, no candidate is perfect its more about admitting weaknesses and saying how you'd address them.
