Single malts

Tried a Haig the other week, it's now being advertised by David Beckham. I remember it being a decent blend, but was sceptical at the new marketing ploy. I am glad to report it's still an excellent blend.

Just had a glass of the Balvenie 17 year old, quite smoky for a Speyside. Nice, but I've got to be honest, bottle for bottle I'd go for the Caribbean Cask or even the 12 year old, don't think it warrants the extra 30 quid.
I have to say, following on from a conversation I had with my mum a week ago, Balvenie has excellent "Doublewood" and "Caribbean Cask" expressions, but I find the rest of their range less than excellent.

Really like the Doublewood, but since trying the Oban Distiller's Edition I haven't touched it.
Next purchase the Bunnahabhain 12. Was in stock up until a week ago in my local store. Just waiting for it to return ;)

Cool, glad it's not just me then. As I say, nothing really wrong with it, but at nearly 80 quid vs 40 for the Caribbean or 30 odd for the Doublwood, no chance. Guess I was just expecting something extraordinary

Ok, not a single malt, but I liked it enough. Now I am in a quandry, I bought myself a bottle of Gentleman Jack for christmas, its now well gone. But I bought one for someone else who I have not seen yet as a present.
Do I.....

This should be a poll.

Yes, you drink it.

Get them a pair of socks.

I'm about to have a Chivas Reagal.

Cracked open a Jim Beam 'Devil's Cut' 90 proof. Needs a splash of water but a very nice bourbon indeed. Not sure whether bourbon needs it's own thread, what say you @Groucho ?
No, keep it in here.
