Thought he did alright against Newcastle - nothing he could do about the goals and made one good save down low. Hopefully he can build on that while Howard is out and not flap at too many crosses or make any silly mistakes!

Goalkeeper is a funny old position.

Why is every teams 2nd choice keeper always well dodgy??*

*Except Chelsea.

That's the natural way of it.

Unlike other positions, the reserve goalkeeper rarely gets a chance in the first team.

Ergo any top class or nearly top class goalkeeper in his prime is not going to be happy sitting on a bench week after week.

Cudicini wasted the best years of his career doing just such a thing.

And if Cech was five years younger I doubt he would be happy playing second fiddle at The Bridge.

Second choice goalkeepers by definition are goalkeepers past their peak, goalkeepers yet to reach their peak.....and goalkeepers who don't have a very high peak to reach :(

Hmmmm... are they his best bits?!

He isn't keen on catching the ball is he?

Courtois for my money is the only one who can, possibly Bego on his day. He seems alright at closing angles and for that matter decision making, granted there Prob wouldn't be any howlers in that vid, won the cup mind. He's a frame to.

Most clubs cant afford to have two and don't play enough games to justify it. For two keepers you have to be playing in Europe and also having a run in both cups as well. If not there just isn't enough games to keep both happy and chances are you wont be turning over enough coin to afford the luxury.

Real easy this one ... No use and scary describe Joel ... Need a top class keeper for the future .. Howard needs some competition as to many mistakes as well of late .. Might sharpen him up a bit - come on bill time to get the cheque book out
