Naismith's Barkley Warning

Davek in full stride here, generating a hurricane of controversy from an innocuous gale. I think Naisy was just trying to be helpful, while making a much observed point about the pressure England puts on its young talents.

The instant Damon turns up, I'm off!

I've set the Damo lights on, no response yet.

Don't go Davek, this is our Wed night entertainment coming up.

He must be suiting up ready for battle

Hold on, Naismith cautioning anyone about losing the ball, let alone Barkley.

Last 5 games both Barkley and Naismith have been involved in:

Naismith 159 successful passes out of 215 made (74%)
Barkley 194 successful passes out of 224 made (86%)

Does Naismith really feel he's entitled to offer advice on retaining possession? The feller is the worst in possession in the whole team.

Laughable.

Dave. I thought Barkley and Naismith cant play in the same side together?

Dave?

Dave??? :coffee:

My issue is this: I'd be embarrassed to be offering advice on stopping a neighbour's windows getting smashed if I had a greenhouse in my own back garden that's smashed to bits.
lolIn that case no player short of Ronaldo or Messi could offer any type of advice to any other as they all have things to learn.

Personally think Naismith can help Ross with some aspects of his game and vise versa and the fact neither has won the Ballon D'or shouldn't stop them doing so.

Saying that Barkley needs to pick and choose better the times he gets on the ball and tries something is being critical. How can it not be? Why else would advice be given if not to correct something?
I agree with Davek on the general point that people shouldn't try and coach whats special out of Barkley's game.

When is the right time and place? His goal against QPR started slightly in our half with the pass with the side foot around the corner to Lukaku that took the first midfielder out of the move. That's a tricky pass to play and would be very risky for most players to attempt in that area however the better the player is the odds of that coming off are obviously higher and therefore worth it.

That's the reason why I agree there's a danger to listening to a "limited" player :-)

However in this instance I didn't really think he was saying that. He was just saying that young players will be inconsistent and that needs to be remembered when they have off days which I agree with.

Steven Naismith has signed a three-year extension to his Everton FC contract.

The deal keeps the Scottish forward at Goodison Park until the summer of 2019.

Naismith made a scoring return from a hamstring problem when the Blues beat QPR 3-1 on Monday night – his sixth goal of the season.

Naismith said: “I am so happy here. From the moment I signed my first contract here it wasn’t long before I saw what a great club it was.

He's not the type of player that we move onto the next level with.

Poor decision by Roberto. He's making a habit of them. That'd make Naismith 33 by the end of that.

We'll regret that. Should have been two years at the very most.

Nice deflection, that isn't what I asked. Do you think players like Coleman are well placed to offer advice to our younger lads?

On the quiet yes, and because he's the best in his position in the country.

Naismith did his 'advice' in public through the media and quite obviously isn't the best at anything.

No too difficult to understand really is it?

Another thing you got wrong.

He's 28 now.

You're rather clueless about our players dave
