Atmosphere at Goodison

Goodison Park is reactive and not proactive

It amuses me when away fans chant about us not singing. We're not singing because we're actually watching the match. Goodison can snarl and cheer with the best of them. We just need something to react to

That's not unique to us. Other sides are the same

Some crowds are more proactive, such as Palace

Eticketing suggests about 30k at the moment

Possibly a bit generous looking at the eticketing. I was in EvertonTwo before buying mine and I meant to ask the girl in there serving on the ticket counter how many had gone. Sufficed to say though, she didn't have much trouble finding me two together in GT5 (before the posts) where it's normally a nightmare to get two together. I know this image doesn't tell the full story, but it is an indicator. Also, it will look gash on TV if the Family Enclosure isn't full, it did at the Bolton and City games two years ago.

Must win big game on Monday so please lads just get some atmosphere going. I can't be arsed with the fans chanting Everton Everton once. Sick of it. And the club don't seem to care.

Well one van from Hull out sung us a few weeks back, sadly i expect QPR might do the same.

Serious (if daft) question, to everyone really: how do chants get going? By the time I hear them (usually sit around level with the stairs in the Lower Gwladys) there's always plenty of voices involved, so it's just like they've always been there. As soon as I hear them I'll join in, but wouldn't try to start one for fear of looking a complete muppet.

Will happily yell all sorts in encouragement like, chants just seem like a thing Someone Else gets going.

Starts with one lid usually (plenty sat around me aren't arsed about getting one going).

Occasionally they start spontaneously depending on what's just happened on the pitch.

How many fans do you expect them to bring? It's so frustrating that our away support is best in the league but our home support is a disgrace.

I can see them bringing about 200. Our away support is top draw in terms of numbers but where not that loud away from home during the game either. Did you hear United at Southampton last week? None stop vocal support during the match, im sure the players react to that positively just like it has a negative effect on them when were on there backs.

I'm the same about starting one. But after a few pints I'm sound, I'll get anything going!

I'll be standing up with my megaphone in the Main Stand shouting "Whats our name?"and I expect you lot to all bellow at the top of your voices in response with a hearty"E-V-E-R-T-O-N" this will occur through the game every 30 seconds, hows that eh for being pro-active?:D
