All the EFC replica kits are close to selling out

I think this just goes to show how far away a company like Kitbag is from understanding our business. They're pleading ignorance over unanticipated levels of demand for products. One of the reasons we took them on the contract was because the club has a record of being terribly out-of-water when these types of decisions had to be made in the past. By taking on a company dedicated to retailing merchandise the hope was the club could leverage their superior expertise and resources for forecasting demand. It's not a simple business forecasting. Though for kitbag to so astronomically fail to meet the level of demand just tells you that they are no better at forecasting sales levels than we were in the past. This deal was all about protecting the club from over-investing in merchandising and retail investments that had serious impacts on our short-term cash-flow. We traded the rights away for the price of less hassle, and a hopefully more consistent revenue stream which wasn't going to hurt our short-term cash flow as much. We have received the constant supply of annual payments, but I wonder how much the club could see generated in greater profits if they simply hired someone who knew what they were doing and paid them to take over the operations. Anyways, the whole argument is a waste of time because we're locked into a 10 year contract with them for buttons.

Poor effort all round and making more kits to be available after Christmas is a waste of time. No one will buy them. I'd imagine the sale of kits from Jan on would be fairly low as start of season and Christmas would be when majority of kits would be sold. Who buys a kit feb/March when seasons nearly over.

with the new tv money we shouldnt need to lock in to deals that guarantee money to keep us afloat, so when the contract is up we should get a better deal. Hopefully anyway!

Surly Everton have something in the contract to say if Kitbag are failing we can leave it?
I would imagine that due to the nature of the minimum annual payments we have very little ability to state that Kitbag isn't holding up their end of the deal. The deal is they pay us an annual fee of 3 million a year and we sign over the rights to retail our brand and merchandise. I imagine that further to the annual payments there are sales targets with associated bonuses for Kitbag if met, but since they pay us a flat fee each year I highly doubt there is anything we can do for failed sales targets since they essentially take on the risk for us.

Is it poor from the sales team?

We're up 65% on last seasons kits, I'd say that was good marketing. It's a shame that people won't be able to give their loved ones kits for Xmas. But surely an increase as big as that couldn't have been foreseen.

How is it calculated how many kits they think they'll sell?

I've never worked in marketing or sales so I don't know how they work it out.
Its just common sense, last year sales were so poor because of the badge. And it seems they are blind to that
Demand was always going to go back to normal with a new better badge in place, then add in we're coming of the back of a brilliant season, have a bunch of marque signings and potentially extra fans from usa, nicest home shirt in years, was always going to sell like mad. Just look at the demand for season tickets.

Ok plead ignorance the first time, but its been constantly going on through out the season were theyre running out of stock

With respect... last year sales were so poor because of the badge simply is not true.
Last years kits sold massively well despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the badge.
