But you are contradicting yourself, to expensive and the competition is crap,

Surely if you are too skint, the oppostion is irrelivant ???

We could play Arsenal in the 3rd round of the League Cup. But it wouldn't carry the same importance of an FA Cup game against the same opposition, it just wouldn't.

And I never said it was crap, just like I don't believe the League Cup is crap. But football fans on a budget will always prioritize games in a different way.

So its not the money then is it ??? Its the "pull" of the game ?!

If it was Barcelona at home, and priced at £38, would we have 25k on ??? and loads saying they cant afford it ???!!

No, because its nothing to do with cost, its the fact that they cant be bothered with a Europa league game, but wont admit it !!!

I have no issue with fans being skint....IF that is true, as you would see many of them suddenly get that cash if it was a bigger game.

That's just too simplistic of a line to take. Of course if Barcelona came to town then we'd be packed out. Not a ground in England that wouldn't be (OK maybe Wigan)

And the nature of a football fan has ALWAYS been one of pulling out the stops if an important game comes up. Whether that be finding money you can't really afford, or blagging a ticket you've not earned the right to get yourself from the club. Fans will make more effort for a game of bigger importance. And it's been that way since time began.

But yeah you're right about the Europa League not being a huge crowd puller. But if they charged say £15-£20, then many more fans would make the effort... That's just the way it's always been.

Your points are valid mate, but rather than looking outwards with economy or cost issues, im more inclined to take a closer look at our fans.

To me its just too fickle to not want to watch us in the eary rounds of a competeintion deemed not important.

goin myself but honestly couldn't care less what the attendance will be. Some of the best atmospheres over the last 15 years have been in front of mid 20 gates.

If the £28/£33 doesn't leave you a bit skint then it's harsh to have a pop at anyone who balks at forking out for game that could be the first of 17? depending if we reach the final of course..That's half a season !

Game is overpriced imo. And the cold hard truth is that this competition is basically the european version of the League Cup.

(I'm still happy and excited that we're in this comp)

It was but I think that has changed this year, and not just because Everton's in it. With total potential revenue of around 15 million quid (winner), AND an almost guaranteed group stage entry into CL (even bigger bucks), winning this trophy has quite some significance

Was hoping for a sell out - got my season tickets for my two lads and I am sitting elsewhere - appeared to struggle to get unrestricted views. - I am travelling from 200 miles away so was hoping it would be rocking - love night games - be home hopefully by 2.00 am m6 and m1 running well COYBS

Semi final against Leeds Zenith Data systems cup 2nd leg. I think there was about 12k but the atmosphere was decent ( might have gone to extra time and that's why ).
They were the days mate!!Can never forgive or forget the shower celebrating their famous "Screen Sport Super Cup"Final win at our place in 1986,everyone knew the reason for that competition, just take the trophy and get off the pitch as soon as,oh no they had to rub our snouts in it!God I despise 'em!!

They're a decent side. Players like Kevin de Bruyne, Ivan Perisic (Good World Cup, we were linked with him), BAS DOST ffs, the boss penalty smasher who we were linked with a while ago.

They're in bad form though.

Only won two of their last 9 and both of those wins on penalties.

Not arguing against that. All I am saying is that I can see why people aren't getting too over excited about Wolfsburg or Lille. They're not AC Milan or Bayern Munich are they?

I'm going to the game by the way because it's the first one. I'll be giving Lille and Krasnodar a miss as I can't afford it. But if the Lille or Krasnodar games become crucial then I will try and find a way to pay the money. That's just the way most fans are.

When people have a dig about fans choosing their games. What do they expect? Of course most of the time you would find the money if it's a really important game, but sometimes you would just rather spend it your money on something more worthwile. I'm looking forward to Lille and Wolfsburg away far more than any of the home games. I'd rather save the money on a Lille home ticket, for a Sunderland away one.

That's just me though.

I'm currently debating on this, as the tie is on television anyway and I live a while away from the ground! (2 hours and a bit).

Does anyone know if the ticket sales are likely to get past 30,000? As if its any less, I probably won't bother... paying for a game on TV & with a [Poor language removed] atmosphere seems a bit pointless.

I'd love to go, as I am delighted we're back in Europe & I'm hoping to go to see them away in Lille.

The only home game I can make because of work is krasnodar. Personally I couldn't care less if its on telly, or the prices are more expensive than 5 years ago, or wether i can't have a Chang. Everton are at home in Europe! I've also signed up for 30 hours of overtime with the hope we make it through and I can book a day off for another game now if that doesn't propel me to the rank of super fan I don't know what does haha
