Each attribute is obviously not exclusive but definitely strengths for each - the effectiveness of playing them in a 4-3-3 would likely hinge on the willingness of the front three to continually create space with their running

Depends who we are playing when utilising a 4-3-3, if McCarthy plays in this side then it's Gibson over Besic for me but I do see Besic (if he becomes the player we hope he can be) forcing his way in as a starter in the near future.

Of course if we signed a top player I wouldn't question it,but you don't throw a player that we dont know too much about into the deep end against arsenal,now if Roberto puts him on for the last 20 vs Arsenal and hes good well then give him a start in his next game.

Watching the preseason games the player I was probably most impressed with was Gibson. Fitness may be an issue, but when fit our team is better fore having him in it.

I think the introduction of Besic will be gradual, if he played in the premiership like he played in preseason he would be sent off before half time in every game.
I am sure that in training every day he is working on what is allowed and what isn't. We must remember that football is fast heading towards being a non contact sport.

Need Gibson to play. If Barkley cant run us through these teams we need Gibson to thread the balls through to Lukaku and Mirallas. Any counter attack v Arsenal ont be very effective if Barry and McCarthy spring the trap and instead of freeing a rampsnt Rodd its Osman or Naismith. Need Gibson to fire early balls to get one on ones.

I reckon Gibson was missing cause Bobby thinks the players he's competing with for a shirt, Barry, McCarthy and Besic are better than him, nothing else.

as much as I don't want to upset Robbie m when gibbo came on second half against celta vigo he picked the team up and drove it forward almost single handed .He definitely deserves a game if he is fit. Barry did ok Saturday but he did not lift the team like a fit gibbo can.
