Martinez - busy man

Would say it probably around 50/50 good to not very good, however the good players he's brought in has been great. Besic, Barry, McCarthy and Lukaku are (will be) massively important to us.

The players that he has sold or that has left since he joined has been mainly correct, even if I was hopelessly optimistic for Jelavic to work out it was probably the right call at the right time.

I'm RM big fan but I rate his transfers 50/50. Robles, Alcaraz, Kone.....

Slightly in his favour i'd say with Barry, McCarthy, Lukaku and Besic as the counter to those three, but he's bought the right youngsters through as well which matters just as much, and the above team is in addition to all but one of the best players from the old regime. Impressive improvement of both the squad and team in a year imo.

Could be right there, can't recalling him getting much game time under Moyes so classed it as bringing through to the first team.

To be fair Baines form in the previous seasons wouldn't have had anyone replacing him, but Oviedo was very much part of the first team squad. Think it's also unfair to use Stones in this as well, Moyes paid £3m for him and considering our injuries in centreback last season he could easily have played as many games.

Stones would still be in the rezzies playing as a right back under moyes

He wouldn't of though, it would of far more likely of been Heittinga or Hibbert or perhaps a new CB he bought in, we have no idea, only going by what's been and what is, Stones had a couple of games, then Martinez played him loads, Oviedo had a couple of games, then he got a proper run under Martinez before getting injured.

Exactly, all we know is Moyes rated both Oviedo and Stones enough to buy them. Given the injuries we had last season in the positions that both players are for backup it's likely they'd have been given playing time.

Except stones was bought as a right back, and when baines has been injured moyes played distin there ahead of oviedo
