ANOTHER game moved from Saturday to Sunday

doesn't make sense why they wouldn't move the bnp event instead, the schedule was made at the start of the season, how far in advance could this bnp event have been planned?
Clearly I am missing something. 300 or so (if they're lucky) v 33,000 Evertonians. And the 30,000 have to move? Clearly, I am missing some irony here. I would never have thought that it would have been the touhest call in the world. Clearly for the Merseyside police it is. Shocking.

it might not be the 300 or so that they are worried about, maybe how many will protest about the march

Never mind changing the day, it should never be allowed for anyone to preach hatred/bigotry.

i would prefer it if people didnt even bother to protest against it, just treat it with the contempt it deserves

Didnt some group from L.A make a song that told the powers that be just were to go ?

I really do think that it's disgraceful that the police didn't veto the fascist BNP from marching. No blame on the club at all, what can they do about it? Hope the Anti-Nazi league organizes something to take the shine from their day. Please.

This will be back to Saturday now. One of the leaders of the British Nazi Party was on 5Live earlier this morning saying they were cancelling their obnoxious plans and that the match could now take place.

That's good of them.

Cannot believe that we are even discussing this personally . The BNP making Everton postpone a match ? Could you imagine the RS doing that ? Like fcuk ! Fuming

It's the most demeaning thing I've seen for a long time: some barely legal organisation calling the shots to the coppers who then tell Everton and the FA to rearrange their longstanding fixture timetable; then the Nazis decide to scrap their plans and tell the coppers to tell Everton and the FA it's all ok again for the original date for that match.

I reckon all those inconvenienced will now have changed their arrangements already, so the club should now just tell them all to fcuk right off and play on the Sunday anyway.

Unbelievable stuff.

I blame the police personally dave.

They have known about it since January, why make the decision so late?

Recent threats against the BNP is no excuse

Merseyside Police come out of this very poorly. As you say, how did they ever even leave it so late to inform the club? Not just that though, how did they ever agree to the BNP event in the first place - would they have cancelled the Grand National or a Liverpool FC match? Would they fcuk.

By the way, I'm not sure threats against those odious tvvats have forced the coppers to make the call. It's a unilateral decision from the BNP as far as I can make out making out that trade union opposition and fan anger has forced their hand. It's a strange decision because, let's face it, they're no strangers to trouble and usually welcome it.

Dont have any issue at all with the BNP, the country we live in people should be allowed to demonstrate for what they believe in. I think the problem here is more the ineptitude of Merseyside police for as you said, leaving it so late and agreeing initially with the date.

Last time they arrested 13 people associated with the BNP, only to be later told by the court they were perfectly legal and the police had to drop charges :lol:

Tell me you're kidding?

You do realise you have posters on here from all walks of life who'd be alarmed at that?

I plead ignorance :P Dont know enough about the BNP, from quickly checking the other night though I agree with taking an Australian stance towards immigration, sure I read the BNP call for that? Sometimes it must be exaggerated how bad the BNP are???, I mean... 13 arrests last time and the court laughed and told the Merseyside Police off. If they were that bad, they would be no doubt stopped?

Anyway, no politics and all that :P

My point was, you cant gag people - Merseyside Police know that and have dealt very poorly, as you said with the situation.
