He beat us in the QF and City in the final. The other rounds aren't exactly anything to hang his hat on, due to the dire level of the opposition.
The QF game, they did amazingly well - I don't think it's unfair to say they were aided by the fact that pretty much every one of our players had the worst game they've had in a long time, and as a unit, we played as badly as I've seen us play in the better part of a decade. PART of this was down to Wigan's game plan, but a good chunk was on us.
The final, again, an excellent gameplan well executed, but once again, helped to some extent by City having a (very) off day. Reading in the papers on the morning of the final that your manager is going to be sacked whatever the result is hardly the best way to focus the mind. But take nothing away, Wigan did very very well.
But if you HONESTLY think that winning two games against Premier League opposition, plus 2 vs Championship, one League One and one non-league is a more difficult achievement than taking a squad tipped for relegation and getting it to 4th place over the course of THIRTY EIGHT games... well... I'm out.
Of course you're out, doubtless if Moyes had won the FA cup and someone asked what his greatest day at our place was you'd say "coming 4th".
I don't think so.
