Silly Season January 2014

Saw that too. I just don't believe it. He's not been linked to Everton either as far as I know. Who was discussing him before?

Just hopeful thinking by Yank Toffees in the transfer hinterlands. Silly money, it seems, to give $100M for Defoe and Bradley, but Bradley is still young and should be a top player for several more years. He could make Toronto FC very tough. I can only assume he takes it for money and to get closer to home. I can't imagine he thinks that's his best opportunity for first team football.

Couple of names for now/end of season in true silly season fashion.

Liam Bridcutt - handed in a transfer request. When I've seen him he seems to like a tackle and looks to get the ball moving quickly.

Ki (Swansea player on loan to Sunderland) - every time I see this lad play for Sunderland he stands put as by far their best player. Seeing as he's on loan could be deemed surplus to requirements at Swansea?

Curve ball this one I know...>
Adam Johnson - looked decent last night and I reckon judging on Poyets about letting players leave he would be available. He's obviously got something and reckon under bobby in our style he might be able to reignite his career.

Thoughts blues?

Watched Bridcutt vs. Arsenal last year and was very impressed. Seen him once or twice since, and your description is accurate. I thought Brighton wanted some ridiculous sum for him though, and that's why he's stayed put. Would be happy if we went in for him at a reasonable fee.

Ki: I don't think would fit Martinez's style per say. He's a good player, but not really what I'd be going for personally.

Johnson: He hasn't impressed for Sunderland, but then again Sunderland are cr@p. It's tough to play good footy when you're on a bad team. He has talent, but he hasn't shown it for a while. Could be that he was just overrated by some for a while. I'd look elsewhere.

Yeah I agree with a lot of what you say regarding Johnson, I just reckon that any flair player would flourish under Roberto, who's philosophy of promoting a player expressing himself and his attributes has done wonders for Ross, Seamus etc.

Think he would be a low price too.

No doubt a CF and a CM are more of a priority

guy in the background looks like he's sure enjoying his whopper though

Should try and sign that Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla. He is said to be a very good creative midfield playmaker. He is exactly what we need to turn us into a major force.

They want atleast his buy out clause for him which is £30m+
