Life expectancy

In 2002, life expectancy at birth for females born in the UK was 81 years, compared with 76 years for males

It got me thinking. If you could absolutely guarantee to live until the life expectancy, so say.... 76 but live no longer, would you take it?

Most certainly, that way I wouldnt hold back whatsoever when intoxicating my body, not that I do so at the moment.

74 is when I die. according to the death clock.

So to answer the original question yes I would because it would give me an extra 2 years

My personal date of death according to Deathclock is Feb 23, 2061.

I'll be 94.

On a similar note, I went to the Liverpool Winning The Title Clock and got a message "could not compute."

a fortnight short of my 98th birthday, although anything based on BMI is a bit of a cop out if it doesn't ask what your weight is made up of, my BMI is just under 30 (borderline obese) but my bodyfat is under 15%... pah etc..

all depends on quality of life though, given the option of living healthy and vital to 75; or living to 90, but spending the last 30 years suffering with ill-health, or not knowing who or where I was (without getting pissed first) I think I'd go for the former.

Nope, it's actually on the way down mate (mainly in the States, but trends are starting to show amongst Maori's, large tracts of Africa and other population groups around the globe too). Mainly due to lifestyle, to be fair, but water and power shortage over the next 50 years will also play a major part.
