He is one of these players who lads will go the match just to watch, me included. Just to say you saw him play.
 
Considering that today's kicks were taken from pretty much the same place and considering where Baines stuck them both, I think that this pretty much compares with that great retaken Sheedy free kick against Ipswich.

Went into Everton folklore today with those free kicks. I was there when sheedy did it but we were top dogs then so crowd almost laughed with pleasure and we were always expecting to win in those days. Different era now of course but he is building a body of work to compare with the master. Well done Bainesy.
 
After yesterday does anyone think that we could get Bale-esque performances out of Baines as a left winger and put Ovideo at full back. The more we get Baines forward on the left the more dangerous we look?
 

Yesterday proved why Martinez stuck to his guns and put Everton before Baines. Baines is a professional and is still committed to the cause. Man u wont be able to afford him due to his age.
