Man Utd wouldnt be able to afford his left foot anymore, let alone him as an whole!.

Some sort of poll on 5live to see who fans think should be england's #3. 2/3 presenters said Cole (Kilbane said Baines). Don't know whether it's finished but the poll's standing at 75ish percent for Baines :)
 
We wake up today knowing we have the best left back in the world playing for us. Leighton Baines.

My Uncle is a season ticket holder at Stamford Bridge. Says Cole has been declining for two years and Baines is way ahead of him now. Can't beleive Hodgson and the pundits can't see it.

They never seem to utilise his strengths when he plays for England do they, but as soon as Cole plays, they try to attack down the left more. Baffling seeing him on the half way line unmarked and rarely getting the ball, for pundits to then say he did nothing. England team/management's a mess :)

If Roy keeps choosing Cole over him, he will lose my respect and I wont be able to take him serious. Its should not matter what club the player is playing for.
 
Not read the whole thread since yesterday but to me it almost looked like after his first goal the way Baines was celebrating was like a "I'm still f*cking here" to our fans. Like a little bit of a statement.
 
Don't know if it's been covered but the journos on Sky Sunday Supplement this morning were talking about Baines.

They aren't even disguising it any more. When asked about Baines vs Cole for England, the Mirror journo outright said if he was wearing a red jersey (Utd) 'as he wanted to', then he'd automatically be England's first choice left back. But he doesn't so he's not. What's more they all agreed this was correct!

So basically no matter how well he plays or how much better than Cole he is, he won't get picked as first choice because he doesn't play for 'the right club'.

Embarrassing and shameful stuff.
