Leighton Baines

He'd be absolutely frothing if he was in Martinez's position and another manager said that. Prick.

People might think it's nothing, but continually bringing it up basically plants the seed that he is still desperate to sign Baines.

Which might have a knock on effect when we're trying to get Baines to sign a new deal.

I believe this also marks the FOURTH TIME IN A ROW that Moyes has talked about Baines at a press conference the day before we're due to play a league game. Utterly shameless.

It's a sad state of affairs that any self respecting Everton fan would have lost respect for Moyes to some degree. It's as if he isn't arsed about taking a dump on his 'legacy' from a great height.

Oh well.

"We tried to sign Leighton right up to the last minute...".

Which I assume means keeping the same bid in place and just hoping he uncharacteristically forces a move. Shameless by Moyes and he put Baines in a horrible, horrible position. If he really wanted Baines he wouldn't have bid what he himself flat out rejected a season before. He would have come straight in with the valuation he effectively put on him when he was our manager. Every time I see him now the man does more and more to make me lose respect for him. He comes across slimier and more disingenuous in every press conference.

Fully agree mate, he dislikes evertonians. He has done since we questioned him for the semi defeat, his statements about are fans when we questioned some of his substitutions in the last couple of seasons were a disgrace. So so happy he's not in charge of us anymore because I couldn't stand the egotistical prick

Wish that ginger mutant would stop talking about contracted players, I seem to recall he wasn't fond of the practice when he managed a smaller team. Massive weapon.
