Pretty good not happy with fellaini money not being spent though

I still think that a lot of clubs are gambling on CL money and spending way beyond their means. Most of us agree that we've improved the side. Hopefully the window has gone a long way towards putting us on a sound financial footing in the future too so that we can buy the players that we want in the future without having to sell first.

Hate to say that but the ****e looks reasonable this season.
I can see Moyes shortening his tenure by bringing in Fellaini and not 10m more for Andre Herrera.
At least Mata is still there for Chelsea.
Man City still need to sort their backline out.
Oezil for Arsenal is nuts but It can't be wrong.
Levy made great deals for spurs but shakeup is too much.

I think it is hard to say right now how to rate it because the big question remains how much of the roughly 15-20M will be made available for Roberto to use in the winter or summer of 14. (27.5 +5 -13 - Loan fees and wages). If it gets lost then this is nightmare, if it gets reinvested with a 2-3 permanent players when we have more time and aren't paying over the odds than it would be an excellent bit of business.

A couple of points:
Those saying 13M is too much for McCarthy - maybe right but many said 10M they could live with I look at it like we got 3M over Fellaini's release clause so it is a wash.

We HAVE to sign Bainsey to an extension. If we do not than I think we need to sell him in the winter. Can't risk him letting is contract run down and get nothing for him.

All in all we could have done much worse but I do think If the money is reinvested and we extend Baines than we did as well as could be expected really.

I can't even find your post amusing as it's so out of touch with reality. EVERYTHING with this window is NEGATIVE other than the fees brought in.

Theres 25mil down the toilet for ONE player who will be in our first 11 in a year. The rest are going to be reserves or single season players.

Count up all these salaries and do tell me how in the name of Zeus we will be saving money on wages ?!

Have a guess on the signing on fees for these players and let me know how we have cash left over....

The difference between 12th and 7th place: ~£4m. The difference between 15th (where we sit after Norwich, West Brom and Cardiff) and 6th place (last year's finish): ~£7m.

If Deulofeu, Barry and Lukaku perform they'll pay their own loan fees. Do they help us for the future? No. But they give us time to pay back some of our debt now so we may spend the new TV money on permanent signings in the coming years.

As an Everton and Wigan season ticket holder (save the abuse for later) I think McCarthy will surprise a lot of you. His presence will make Barry or Gibson flourish like you don't know, if there's a time in the season he's missing for any reason we'll see.

Barry's underrated because of his mobility for me. McCarthys energy and box to box play will allow Barry or Gibson to play that deep lying playmaker role they prefer.

And if we don't have upwards of 15 million at least to spend on transfers ill be very disappointed.

I'm seeing things which no one else seems to be....been downhill since Martinez made those first few signings...now this.

Ok, I see your point but I cant see how there is any money left to pay any debt back or even sign any players in Jan for example?

On top of that spending 6.5mil on Kone alone would have been better saved and that mitigates the 7mil you highlighted.

Not playmaking as such, spreading passes etc, distribution to the wings I think it could work. And I see your point but were reasonably good on set pieces and I don't believe we'll concede too many.

Bqarkley is 6'2 yanno, mccarthy and mirrales both 5'11, barry over 6 foot, coleman 5'10, hardly a bunch of midgets, seems like you just keep changing what your issue is, we get it you didnt want martinez as manager, and you wanna see the negative in anything he does, but get a grip mate

One thing that people are failing to realise is that now McCarthy has another mentor (Barry) added to the squad to add to his game, add to his experience and get the grips of game. Fellaini certainly wasn't going to be the man to give him the experience he needs, nor would I think Neville would be able to do either if he was still playing a part of our Midfield. We have a much needed striker with flair and the ability to cut defenses wide open (someone for Mirallas, Deulofeu, Pienaar, Gibson, McCarthy to feed to) and two solid midfielders to raise the competition and improve our game.

We made three signings in the three crucial areas we needed, I wouldn't be so approving of Barry if McCarthy wasn't coming along with him.

Every player on the pitch has to compete for their spot now, he made it obvious he was trying to get players to push themselves and realise what it is to compete for your spot when he signed Robles and Deulofeu, something Moyes, really never did..

anyway, I hope this made sense, I just did an all nighter all the way over here in Australia for this window and i'm glad I haven't regretted it.
