Gone and get to ****

The same Moyes that wasted 6m+ on Oviedo and Stones, Did they improve the first team

Have I been following a different club for the last 11 years? Name me these great forwards Moyes signed in his time?

But no if the Ginger over lord was in charge he would have took the 10m and signed Messi on a 20 year deal with us paying him in magic bean's grown in Kenwright's garden

whenever he had the cash he would often try to bring the one quality player in Felliani and the Yak spring to mind other times he brought in younger players with potential like jags, baines, lescott and coleman, we dont know how RM will do but everyone is entitled to be worried and pissed off that for the first time in years of seeing everton have money no matter how small to spend without having to sell first be spent on a near 30 year old striker who has had one "decent" season in the premier league whilst clubs like swansea could have a strikeforce of Bony and Michu, madness

Vic 130 games 18 goals 1 in 7.2

Kone 290 games 106 goals 1 in 2.7

yes Granted, how many of those games were starts for each player? Secondly, how many of those games was Victor playing up front, rather than on the wing or in midfield (wide position).
Of late, since coming back from injuries, Victors ratio is comparable.

£5m for Kone in perspective:

Fernandinho (City) £35.2m
Schurlle (Chelsea) £19.3m
Carroll (West Ham) £15.4m
Van Wolfswinkel (Norwich) £8.8m
Lovren (Southampton) £8.8m
Cornelius (Cardiff) £7.7m
Aspas (Liverpool) £7.2m
Kone (Everton) £5m
Stekelenburg (Fulham) £4.9m
Okore (Villa) £4.1m
Pieters (Stoke) £3.2m
Amat (Swansea) £2.5m
Davies (Hull) £2.3m

He scored 1 in 2 for Levante and 1 in 3 for Wigan. If he repeats what he did last season he would be our joint-top league goalscorer.

Following Koné's impressive start to his Wigan career, manager Roberto Martínez commented that: “We’re so pleased with Arouna. He has been a joy to work with. I have never seen a foreign player arrive in England and adapt so quickly and be able to be himself. He has shown he can cope with the physicality of the league and on top of that, he has incredible finishing ability and technical quality. We’ve been extremely blessed to have Arouna in our dressing room.”

I've had to talk myself round to it, but he could be quite a smart signing. He's an intelligent and hard-working player who offers something different from both Jelavic and Anichebe.

Moyes did alright with the money he was given for strikers, just without ever finding that 20 goal a season plus player we desperately needed.

Every striker brought in served a purpose. Even Beattie who was notoriously bad in my eyes managed a decent enough season in 05/06.

Really? REALLY?

Beattie, Johnston, Yak, Beckford, Saha and Jelavic cost around 40m

Do you think any of those turned out to be good buys honestly?

Wading through the punctuation mate. But I think the gist of the post is that Kone is not that great a signing, we defo need more goals in the team, and that he isnt the man to provide them. You might be right on all 3.

I was saying he has only been in the job 2 days, Kone is a decent squad addition; nothing more, but you never know, so lets wait and see.

thats my issue though if he's gonna be a first team player then we need better than him, I would be fine having him as a squad player but I doubt we have the money for both for one position

I just don't see that I am afraid. Victors minutes to goals ratio is very similar, and Jelavic in his first year here was much better. At best he's a slight improvement. He has scored 2 more goals in a season, than Jelavic managed in about 3 months.
I was going to make the same point about Anichebe. For the first time in a while he's managed to stay injury free and actually put minutes in on the pitch. Without being prolific, he did chip in as a result of that but his all round game leading the line was pretty good. Even his biggest detractors would have to concede that.

Be interesting to see the stats of both Kone and Anichebe's minutes to goals ratio last season.

Could Anichebe have matched Kone's 11 goals for Wigan last season, if he'd also played practically every game as Kone did? I think he'd have gone pretty close.

So half a season then

Honestly if you think Kone is not better than Vic you need to take yourself out side and wobble your head until it drops off

Mate, you're the one proclaiming Kone to be a good buy and he's going to turn out exactly like all of the above you listed.

Steady enough, will contribute around 10 goals and do a job for the team.

Del, we're all really enjoying you starting arguments with imaginary opponents and then somehow losing them, but please, before you bring home the tragic failure of the British education system to us all, shut the **** up.

screams to me as a safe transfer for martinez- someone who wont get us top 6 but little risk of flopping either- disapointing really thought he was gonna bring all this south american flare with him from "dithering" davy..

how many games have we played under our new manager?

how many of them have we lost?

how many clear cut chances did that aging useless striker we got from Wigan miss?

how many of the goals we've conceded were the fault of the gash freebie centre half?

well??

Yeah, but last 2 seasons, 11 in 38. 1 in 2.8.

Still, lets wait and see. I reckon the 3 main strikers will be ok next year, as a unit.
