And my other big concern with an internal appointment is the style of play won't change. They'll be left with clear instructions on formation, style of play etc. it'll be defensive, boring football again (especially when good players like mirallas leave due to lack of inspiration from the new manager).we'll sit back on 1-0s.

Moyes is creating his nest egg. If (for me, when) it all goes wrong at united he'll be back. And he won't want these pesky expectations or even entertainment to get in the way of a seamless return...

There's ridiculous thinking with some that a better style of football is needed and will take us on to a new level with an attacking tiki taka style manager!? Football is about winning and different tactics ect...

Wigan try and play lovely football and they have gone down! Arsenal have played lovely football for years and won nothing for 8yrs with a squad full of quality players. Laudrup, the man everyone on here is creaming there pants over went into Swansea and got rid of the Brenda's "tika taka at all cost" regime and mixes it up dependent on opposistion. And how many games did man utd win ugly this season??

Moyes football has got better over the years as his players have got better. He can set a team up several ways to play which may be frustrating and the wrong choice at times but that approach has won us games we shouldn't have over the years....possibly lost/drew games we shouldn't of also mind. It's a good thing not bad which is why we'v finished consistantly up to the top end. However don't want this to sound like a complete defense of moyes tactics, the lack of a bit more of a killer instinct or all out attack at times has been his downfall IMO (but again you can look to no bench options) We have played some great football under moyes, also some dour, but the end results have been the same season on season.

Anyway with regards to internal, I'm warming to the idea I must say...the names linked outside are not exactly filling me with any excitement, a fancy foreign name doesn't mean anything and certainly doesn't guarantee anything. Would it really be that bad for everything to carry on the same here with a new face leading it up? And I've got to say I'm massively intrigued at the thought of big dunc. He for me is the only internal that would get the respect and time of the fans. Yes of course he's inexperienced but with the coaching staff, set of players here and everything that's in place and help at hand I think he could do it.

It would certainly be interesting and exciting and for me a better choice than Martinez easily!

Amen Brother!

Paul Jewell is a good sign of what to be wary of, lots of managers touted as geniuses end up with the wrong players at the wrong time. or move to the wrong club at the wrong time...suddenly they are a nightmare and no-one should touch them. nothing guaranteed beyond what we already have. If Titus Bramble comes in as manager and picks out a player who can put the ball into areas where even Jela and Victor can't miss, and starts to blend youth into the squad with a bit of imagination, then Titus Bramble is the guy for now.

absolutely spot on. I don't care how excited the media are by a choice if what we see on the pitch is positive and imaginative. The idea an internal candidate will be any more of a yes man than someone coming in from outside hand picked by the board doesn't make sense

We're supposed to be moving onto the 'next level' aren't we? Or is it all about training someone on the job - the 6th best team in the land risking all for that?

This lot could sell no change and (at best) a sideways move as 'evolution' and Evertonians will fall for it hook, line and sinker. The most gullible fanbase in this league.

We need to wake up here, we're getting sold a pup.

Stopped watching any sky sports news, and switch off whenever its mentioned on Talksport.

Truly depressing the list of managers that are "Fav's" !

No mate people like you need to wake up... There is NO "Next Level" without significant investment !! Why don't some people get that??

Big dunc would also drag Rooney by his balls back to finch farm, hand him the No.10 shirt and tell him to get on with it !!

sad to say that Rooney would turn everything around and probably suit us more than United. think kidnapping is our biggest hope though

But, presumably, you think someone with zero experience is a good bet for keeping Everton challenging for Europe?

what exactly does 'next level' mean anyway apart from on some computer game people must be playing. I want to watch Everton play with passion and style, and hopefully win a few extra games than last season, what level that means we are at doesn't some into my thinking. I have been around a load of Man City fans this season and don't see any great talk of being at the 'next level', they still talk about players, beating Man Utd and the other normal fan stuff
