Strikers

I'd give my right nut for Benteke, but absolutely zero chance of it happening.

Yep no chance, we missed the boat with him. We can't sign someone who comes in and has a great season as there Fee jumps up to unrealistic heights. We need to get them first or from elsewhere.

Anyway next season will be key with him. Look at jelavic, who'd of thought it possible he could of been as bad as he has been this season.

What about a season loan for Darren bent?

Well IMO we need 3 snr strikers in our squad. As I said a top quality signing to be first choice. Vic is a good super sub and back up then 1 more. I'd sell jelavic and have bent tbh if the money was right and nothing else available.

It'd be interesting to see how jelavic does under another manager. I've never been convinced by the idea that he's gone to pot because of moyes but it would be nice if it was true and he'd get back into form next year.

Yep and that's going to push us top 4 isn't it.

We need to sign a marque top top striker for next season. I'd even be inclined to sell jelavic and buy 2 keeping Vic as the 3rd choice.

Selling Jelavic wouldn't get you enough to buy one decent striker, never mind two ! New manager will either get him playing and scoring, or offload him in January at the latest. Victor could go either way under a new manager...might be the tops or could be useless. He's shown a bit this season to prove he's got it in him. We do need a top class striker, but the current manager limbo means its difficult to speculate. Kone is over thirty I think? Who will suffer under Moyes at United? Welbeck, Zaha, Hernandes? Moyes may well play to up front with their resources, but if he plays only RVP, one of the other strikers will be out of the club. Probably out of our price range however, unless part of a package for one of our top players.

Never believed the crap about Moyes ruining strikers, well if that the case, will he ruin man u strikers. I put it down to Moyes not being good in the market for strikers and is better at central midfielders and defenders, Lets remember he didn't play Baines for ages and only got in cos of lescott having to cover cb.

Vic is rubbish and Jelavic looks like a poor man's Torres. We desperately need a striker. Benteke could be the new Michael Ricketts.

Agree. Jelavic overachieved in 2012 and has underachieved this season. The reality is probably somewhere inbetween. I would give him at least another season as if he hits form he is extremely good.

People who've played up front (at least as one of the "front two" we used under Moyes):

Rooney
Ferguson
Campbell
Radzinski
Chadwick
Jeffers
Watson
Bent
Cahill
Beattie
Anichebe
Vaughan
McFadden
Johnson
Yakubu
Fellaini
Jo
Saha
Donovan
Beckford
Vellios
Straq
Naismith
Mirallas

Am I forgetting anyone? I'm not including the likes of Agard and McAleny who have had about 11 minutes between them, that's 24 players in 11 years, considering we usually favour 1 up top that's a startling amount.

I like Di Santo he would always score boss goals for no apparent reason.
