Player Valuation: £50m
David Moyes charged as Alan Wiley ‘sorry’ - Liverpool Daily Post.co.uk

The Daily post is saying he might make the bench. There was a clip on EvertonTV of the lads training and he looked fine, he was running comfortably. I don't think he's as far off as people think, it'll be excellent to get him back into the squad.

If we can keep them all fit we'll have some good forward options, the likes of Yakubu, Saha, Cahill, Vaughan and Anichebe are all capable of chipping in with goals.

I would say stronger then last year in forward positions Saha not only is a player who can feed of chances he can also make his own. If we can get 20 games out of him ill be happy given our strength in forward areas.

That's a major plus, he is an all round striker and he does have the ability to make things happen. He's also a left footer which will give us good balance upfront. Far better than AJ anyway so we've definatly improved if we can keep him fit.

Persuming that we play 4-5-1 for much of the season, i think he will only be needed for about 20 games or coming of the bench, Vaughan and Vic are progressing al the time so im not bothered about his injury record if im honest. Its not as bad as many people think infact

Agreed, he made 24 appearences for Man utd last season so he's not as injury prone as people think. I've also heard he's been put on a special fitness regime, I think Alex Ferguson mentioned it.

I think we'll interchange between 4-5-1 and 4-4-2, we now have the players who can fit into both systems without having to worry. Cahill and Yakubu will not be able to play every game and if they are out of form Saha, Vaughan and Anichebe can come in and freshen it up.

From a friend who's a Manure fan he says when the feller is playing week in week out, he's fine. When he's coming of the bench, playing here and there, he gets injuries.

See what happens.

I dont think so mate! But its nice to have the option, in truth 4-5-1 is another mans 4-3-3. Arguably you could say that infact we play a 4-4-2 with Cahill covering back in midfeild.

True is prob would be a 4-3-3

....Defence

....Midfield

.....Cahill...

..Yak.....Saha

I still love the fact that he offered not to be paid until he played. That to me speaks volumes for the lad- he wants to prove himself and is hungry to prove his worth.

There are PLENTY of goals between Saha and the Yak- 40 between the two?

It'd be a massive boost to see him on the bench tonight, hopefully with a short run out and then an appearance away at Hull.

I don't think when Saha is back will we play two upfront. If you remember Moyes's comment when he signed Saha that Louis knows upfront how he will utilized. My personal opinion is he will come in on the hour mark if we are chasing the game and every now and then be starting to rest Yak. I don't think he was brought in with the thought of two upfront not with Cahill back healthy.

No ones got a guaranteed place, if Saha impressed he'll play. It doesn't really matter if it's in a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1 he can replace either Yakubu or Cahill.

It will be good if he makes the bench because I'm worried Vaughan and Anichebe won't be able to go 90mins.

I'd go:

Howard
Neville Lescott Jagielka Baines
Anichebe Castillo Cahill Arteta
Yakubu Vaughan
SUBS:
NASH
VALENTE
RODWELL
OSMAN
BAXTER
JUKELITWITZ
SAHA

as has probably been stated in previous threads, I think he'll be a boss signing provided he can stay fit for any length of time. He's a Champions league, top 4 player when he is fit.

I still think we shouldve took him up on the pay as you play offer though.

can anyone confirm how far off he is from fitness - aside from what is in this thread. I read that ossie, pienaar and hibbert were on the cusp of availability, but saha wasn't mentioned.
