Elstone refusing to allow shareholders who are also Blue Union members into meetings

Seriously what would you expect from the club? No one relating to the BU will get a meeting with the club again, the BU made sure of that themselves. Can't see why anybody would expect different.

This is nothing to do with the BU though is it? This is a small shareholders association asking to have a specific individual, who is a shareholder himself, as part of their committee. The BU did totally burn their bridges with the club, but by Elstone refusing to allow Kelly to form part of shareholders forum, he's scored a massive PR own goal, as it looks like he's running scared of having to have any dialogue that he might find challenging.

The meeting will have many people in attendance, so there can be no misrepresentation of the facts as everything will be minuted & there could be no selective editing of transcripts.

As expected and as usual these type of threads generally descend into people asking "so what do the BU expect after what they did"....etc etc as though that really is the big issue and bigger picture in all of this.

It isn't, and should be used to detract from the main issue that Everton's board resemble a tired dictatorship that have run their territory into the ground and do now not have a clue what to do with it.

It's up for sale mate.

I stopped taking your posts seriously about 5 pages back.

Go back to sleep.

They do know what to do. They have put it up for sale. Whether that's too much or not they agree that they can't take us above and beyond its no secret.

There is no evidence to suggest Everton have even recieved an offer.

There is no evidence to say that the club is for sale.

If there is, show me.

Before you tell me "because Bill said it is" this won't do.

Very much this.

They will never get an offer at the price they are asking...never.

Ok, so we aren't for sale. :/

So there is no actual evidence to say we are, is there?

The club have even got all uppity because someone has had the audacity to maybe name a price at which is suggests it may be for sale at. Now, I sell stuff for a living, and when I sell stuff people like to know what price it is available at.

I don't keep it a close guarded secret.

Can you suggest any logic in not putting an actual price on something?

If you genuinely want to sell something, you sell it. You can sell any old crap, at any time (see ebay for details) everything on the planet has a 'price'. However, if the value you attach to something is beyond what any sane indivdual is prepared to pay, then what would you do if you genuniely wanted to sell it?

As for not receiving an offer, we don't know whether that's true or not. But to give you an analogy, say you advertised your slightly dog eared Ford Mondeo on Autotrader with a £POA on it, I see it & come down to have a look. I see it's a bit tired, needs some bodywork, engine's Ok, but the seats are well worn & I'll need to spend a few quid on it, to get it up to scratch. But I'm prepared to have a go at it, so I ask how much. You tell me it's £25000, I piss myself laughing & say, come on, surely you'll take a chip like? Nope, that's what I'm looking for, or very close, you say. I've turned on my heels & gone off to look at another one......no offer made.

.... So they can be made an offer? It's clever tactics. You make me an offer and I'll counteract.

OK let's pictorially describe the situation using an analogy.

I have one of these:

twix-wrapped.jpg

I publicly tell the world I want to sell my Twix. I invite people to buy it from me.

A fat kid then wants the Twix. He's really hungry, so if need be he'll spend one of these to get it:

I tell him that before he says anything to me, he's got to promise to keep it a secret. He agrees.

So he then offers £1 for the Twix.

I say no outright, because I want this much for it:

The fat kid laughs and thinks I'm joking. But I'm not.

He then decides he's not that hungry after all and goes and buys another chocolate bar for a fair price.

That's pretty much Everton.

If this was the case the board would have been ousted by potential buyers as not negotiating on a ridiculous price. It hasn't happened and I don't even think we've had one genuine offer.

The board are going to want at least their money back.
