What effect is all the booing of substitutions in the last games going to have ?

They come too late, they're often quite baffling and he doesn't use all three for some reason.

Naismith on in injury time was the most confusing today. We wasted our own time doing that.

I think you'd have to be a stark raving Moyes fan boy to claim that he's astute with his subs. It's comfortably one of his biggest managerial weaknesses.
That is the sign of a manager who cant motivate his team.

I think the main reasons behind the booing is that for one Heitinga had a mare at the back today, our bright spark Mirallas came off (this was fairly justified though, he didn't look 100% and it was probably better to lose the battle to win the war so to speak), and Moyes always waits stupid amounts of time before he changes things even when it's obvious things aren't working so the crowd were showing their frustration at the decisions. I'm not saying that the fans are always right but when thousands of people all agree on the same course of action yet the guy who can make that decision doesn't do it you've got to wonder whether us fans actually know a thing or two about football or managers are paid so much because they perceive much more about a game than us which leads them to make decisions that seem odd to the average fan. It's probably somewhere in the middle.

Yeah, who does he think he is running the club in such a way that we haven't gone into administration? The swine!!!

Whoa, hang on a minute.... Everton aren't in administration because we have sold several of our best players to appease banks.

Bill Kenwright and his running of Everton is not the reason we aren't in administration... in fact, there's a pretty solid argument based in fact that would suggest his running of the club has put us close to administration on numerous occasions, through his lack of ability to bring in the necessary investment, by virtue of valuing his own shareholding at an unrealistically high level that puts off would-be buyers.

Jack - they are pro's and are trained and focused to go through all sorts of things. Its not like there are excuses when playing away from Goodison. Same mentality used innit.

Booing doesn't help anybody.
Some posters would have you believe booing and abuse has turned around Anichebes form.Older members may remember the cushions raining down from the main stand so maybe booing isn't so bad:confused2:

I don't get the mentality of 'don't boo, it'll make the team unhappy'. So Everton fans aren't supposed to protest the board being a bunch of ****ing amateurs because it sounds like the lot across the park(who, btw have had multiple takeovers in 24/7's term) and they aren't supposed to boo when the substitutions aren't wise. How the hell are people supposed to voice their displeasure? Because forums are such a display they give a **** about?

I personally thought the boo'ing was stupid simply because he took off an ineffective midfielder and put on another striker. Its an attacking sub and and a good choice, I simply didn't understand the problem.. No issues with people boo'ing though unless its completely wrong like when Anichebe was boo'd for declining his contract... when he hadn't.

I don't boo everton players coming on to the pitch. I just don't do it.

I'll say ffs moyes and wake up blues and the likes and I'll boo the refs and the opposition all day but booing one of our own doesn't sit right with me.

Agree with this. Mirallas was shattered and ineffective and we needed goals, so Moyes brought Jelavic on for him and Oviedo on for Heitinga. I don't know what other subs he could have made, and they wern't as late on as a classic Moyes sub.

I personally would never boo our own players, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah, what he said.

I disagree. Naismith worked his socks off for the brief time has was on. He's a good choice to bring on fresh when the opposition is starting to tire. He was causing them problems right till the end of the game

His flick on to Fellaini would have been converted had Fellaini smashed it home.

The reason people show up at games is because they are passionate about the team. With passion comes elation, frustration, anger, and contentment, to name a few. I don't think booing is great, but its part of the passion.

Professional players know that they come to a club, any club, and are welcomed by these passionate fans. They have to be prepared for the highs & lows or they're in the wrong business.

Nah.

I've never once booed an individual player, it just seems totally pointless. If a player has given a crap performance but has been trying his best (Naismith), then booing him will do nothing but discourage him. If you think a player has been gash then don't applaud him if he's subbed, but don't boo him. Nobody every became a better player as a result of being hounded off the pitch.
