Why did the club spend 5m on Oviedo?

The only ways to get him game time is to drop Pienaar, drop Baines, play him miles out of position, or send Pienaar to the right wing and play Oviedo on the left.

I can understand why Moyes is reluctant to do any of those.

Understand what your saying mate, but I would rather break up Baines and Pienaar for a few games that have Naismith anywhere near that right wing, I'd even play Oviedo completely out of position on the right than have Naismith there, hes uber gash and always will be, Oviedo looks like he could be an asset

I've said it before but Everton need at least one more Right Back for when Coleman and Hibbert are down. Jags is great in the middle but he looked shaky at RB last night. Hibbert and Coleman are injured quite a bit. If Oviedo can do RB, then he should be put there or trained up to play in the position because it's becoming a genuine issue at the moment

Would it be absurd to try to get Oviedo comfortable at right back? If he could do almost as well as on the left side we would be an attacking threat from the right also when Coleman is injured.

You must be the only evertonian in the world to be happy with this transfer window then Mikey.

seriously you are now happy with the club having 3 RBs and only 1 striker, coleman was ok ther and hibbert was a more then adequate for cover

Moyes has a habit of playing 'worse' players over ones that fans want to see. Naismith will always be in with a shout of starting and will always be one of the first options off the bench in Moyes' mind. He's a conservative player, won't try anything stupid and won't take risks. I also think he's a bit gash, but Moyes is like that.

Agree with this and it is frustrating. I can't see why Oviedo doesn't get a chance over Naismith who to me has looked abysmal in nearly every game. Although I think it's unfair playing him on the right.

Thought he was absolutely fantastic today. He looks hungry to make his mark everytime he comes on which is refreshing to see. Think this lad could be great for us in years to come.

we need an attacking right back for balance. way too predictable only playing down the left

Stones could be him, lets hope Moyes throws him in the deep end, cant see him starting against Man u, recken Neville will be rb in that game, Maybe Oldham would be the time to test him but would that be too risky?
