Is that kiss goodbye to Moyes then? Who would you want if so?

no.

Your presuming -
all our better players will leave if moyes leaves,
we wont be able to replace them,
the next manager will be awful (little reminder moyes has won nothing),
none of our young players will turn out to be any good,
Bill's 24/7 search wont finally find a buyer (you may be right on this one).

People are over valuing moyes, he is not the difference between premier league top half and relegation.

GET A GRIP

Dunno what age you are lad but I've seen us nearly go down twice and the only reason it hasn't happened since is because our present manager hasn't allowed it to despite little if any help from the Board.

I've seen us win titles so I'm not talking out of my backside. Our better players WILL LEAVE if he's not around. And we CERTAINLY WON'T be able to replace them at the kind of price Moyes paid for them.

Trust me, I've got a grip. Of reality.

He ain't the Messiah but you don't know what you've got until it's gone. And I'm speaking from experience.

Over half of the PL has done business though, and the fact fans are so accepting that we're broke and "that's the way it is" does my head in.
But amazingly over half (well 75% if you want to get picky) are below us. Moyes has got an awful lot to answer for. If only we'd gone for David O'Leary instead of Moyes we could have spent some time in the lower leagues and then had something tangible to moan about.

How the feck anyone can moan about the team and manager when we are sitting in 5th in one of the toughest leagues in the world just beggars belief. Wake up and smell the 'kin coffee.

The only teams above us are United, City, Chelsea and Spurs. That is an amazing achievement.

sorry there, who was a realistic target as a striker ?.
A hash, don't really agree there, what there wasn't was a need to go out and spend money because it was burning a hole in the pocket, the squad is still good enough to compete for fourth place as it stands, like every club we need luck but it's a very good capable team thats lost only three games this season, why would a manager leave that

How can you say that? I've just checked the League table and we are a full point behind 4th. We'll never close the gap.

I think Moyes would be an attractive proposition to many Chairmen and Boards of wealthier clubs who would be able to at least meet, if not better his current term. He's gained a solid reputation and respect during his time at Everton and is quite a high profile figure in football. He strikes me as the kind of guy who likes a challenge but when that challenge becomes the MO (lack of funds, small squad etc.) who could blame him for wanting off ?

If I were offered the chance of a top job with a major oil company I would jump at that chance knowing that if i ****ed up and got sacked there would be a decent severance package which would guarantee my financial security for the foreseeable future. Once all the furore had died down, I'd find myself another job more akin to what I used to do and life continues. If however you make a success of that top job .. well SAF mark II (any football manager likes that idea).

And the perfect time to really make a push for it. Sadly, we never will with the current collection of clunge in the boardroom.

I'm just so frustrated we didn't get Fer, He looks a player and just what we need in my opinion. It will anger me if he goes onto great things. I think we will regret not signing him and taking the gamble.

'Think' is a very telling word. As is 'gamble'.

I think that I could go to a casino tomorrow and bet my house on red, no! black, no! red, no! high, what do you think?, OK, odd numbers. I also think that my wife would understand!

BTW, I'd never heard of Fer before this week. Had you?

If you've been scouting him for a while maybe you could have suggested him to GOT as one who would make the difference.

No I have not seen him play. But what I have heard is that he likes a tackle and is a box to box midfielder. Gibson has missed more games than played and has been badly missed and as much as Neville is a great leader he is not top 4 standards for and is 36. They last month or so it has been blatantly obvious that we need someone in there. I think a Leroy Fer with 3 pints of fluid in his knee does a better job in midfield than Neville.

Ermm!

Once you reach a certain point it's not about the money any more, it's about the respect. He wants to win something with us, badly...it's not hard to see why. He's been afforded a luxury only 2 other managers have had in recent history as far as tenure and the freedom to run it his way. As it stands, he's only really failed in one aspect of his time here and I don't see him as the type of person to just let that ride without hitting rock bottom first. Really, he'd be stupid to go anywhere else...apart from trophies he's well on his way to a self-made dynasty, whether people like that assertion or not.

I hate some of the sh*t he does at times but I can't sit back and say he's really arsed up this club in any way. He wants a trophy on his terms and, for that to happen without any assertions to past managers or buying a trophy etc., he needs to do it here. He infuriates the [Poor language removed] out of me at times but I do respect what he's done, as a manager.

Now get on your horse, David...trophies to win.

Words can't express how much I hope you're right with all that.

What the hell are you on about? I'm not talking about the manager or the players at all. You better re-read my post and try to tell me where I've blamed anything on Moyes or the team.

He was given 9m to spend. Fer got called off due to a knee issue at we left the Spanish bloke to late to get it done. Giving him that sort of cash (a small fortune compared to recent windows) is faith, he just couldn't find the right player.
