He'll play Osman's role, inbetween the defensive midfielder and the attacking midfielder. The box to box role really. Thats his best position I think, that's how he played for Portugal with Deco infront and Petit behind.

It's a good thing that he's versatile as we don't have a massive squad, he gives up option on the left, right, centre, defensive midfield and in the attacking role behind the strikers.

Hopefully we can get him as soon as possible, Moyes supposedly wants him signed up by Sunday.

Not really. It is rumoured that Sporting might be tempted to accept the 20M€ with full payment at once.

But only one paper says that.

I think Everton hasn't even presented a second offer.

ok point taken bout not being specifically a holding m/f . i was assuming hes being bought to replace carsley. tbh our attacking m/f options are good when all are fit. if we get fernandez thats another attacking m/f.

at this present time i would be more excited if we were linked to a £16 mill striker.

Nothing really important or new. Things look a lot colder.

I guess it's probably safe to say that we won't see anything happening until the squad get back from the states....then hopefully it's kick ass time...
