whats Moyes playing at?

For me there isn't. Footballs just a game of our team Vs thiers. If people are allowing thier kids to model themselves on footballers then thats thier problem. My All-time best player was Dunc. I weren't strangling people on the pitch. For me the only issue is how high can we finish up this league. If we pulled all the snide tricks the other clubs do and won the league it wouldn't take 0.0000000001% of the shine off it for me.

Just seen that Mo got three games. It appears the way Moyes handled it was correct, I owe him a drink.

There's a teabag in the post Dave.

Well, clearly that's where we differ. I think it's refreshing that we've immediately condemned this behaviour and we took the piss out of Neville when he dived, for example. To me it's a bit of resistance to the way the game is headed these days. Some see it differently. But if we all behaved like bad Suarez's all the time, the game would not be pleasant to watch, imo and by the philosophy that we should look to win at any cost, then we should applaud Stoke, Suarez, Dalglish on "playing the game". I'd just rather the "game" we played was football.

So would I. The FA are the people to ensure thats the case though.

Agree with this entirely and the FA do not seemed to have listened to Moyes comments and decide to give him a 9 match ban.

In my opinion we have come out of this well and it will all be forgotten in a few days because of the way we have handled it.

Come on guys, do you really think those blerts at the FA give a crap about how we handled it? If they did they'd publicaaly praise us and say it influenced the decision.

They couldn't give a crap what managers say unless they're complaining too much about refs.

Biggest risk for me is that Fellaini feels let down that his boss publically hung him out to dry rather than backed him up. But that depends on what was said in private but its still a possibilty.

exactly mate only thing that probably saved us is that halsey saw the other 2 incidents otherwise they probably would of hit felli with a few more banned games, I agree mate felli seeing moyes hanging him out to dry whilst sewer rat, rooney, the arsenal starting 11 etc. getting protected by their manager might make him think twice about sticking around

They don't normally comment on cases but if they did praise us you could have players kicking lumps out of each other and then immediately apologising due to the precedent that we'd set.

Fellaini knows Moyes' way and that he'd let the manager down. There was no condoning what he did.

Moyes has been lucky on this occasion. Halsey got us out of that by saying he saw the second two incidents but thought they were not serious foul play

You want our manager to lie? Lots of people on here claim we are Everton, we do things right! Well when we do things right seems a few of us want us to act all kopite. Always the victims it's never our fault and all that. Well a lot of posters imo have shown themselves to be hypocrites also you need to be big enough to admit you where wrong and moyes got it right. I admit I'm a moyes fan, however the crap he get's from some quarters is just ridiculous in my opinion

One benefit I get as a fan is that I don't feel like a hypocrite when I criticise other managers for defending this kind of stuff.
You're right that in terms of points and treatment from refs, we won't benefit.

The problem is that most football fans repeat what they read and hear in the media. The journalists will focus on Fellaini's misdemeanour, not Moyes's honesty. There won't be a host of comments in the press highlighting the difference between this response and that of the likes of Rodgers and Wenger.
However, in my private life, I like to feel ok when I look in the mirror at the end of the day. That entails trying to do the right thing, if that means admitting I've done the wrong thing (which is far too frequent tbh), that's the way it goes. So on that front, I'm happy with the response.

my sentiments to a point. i still feel uncomfortable about what he did.

im a big moyes fan myself mate but I think he could of mentioned how felli was being treated all game though, thats not being kopite its just not completely villianising our best player

But by doing that to a degree that are excusing his actions. Moyes has played this one spot on and maintained our stance as a club and what we stand for

Halsey admits to seeing 'the other two incidents', so, again I ask, why didn't he do anything about Shawcross's antics?
I'm harping on this, I know, but I'm frustrated because I know nothing will be done to change it and this ugly, potentially game changing behaviour will continue to be ignored. It'd be so simple to get this stuff out of the game. Just keep giving fouls and cards. Sorted.
