whats Moyes playing at?

one thing to note though is that a large part of the media including SSN have said that grappling in the box is an issue and needs to be sorted now I know felli has apologised but who knows if he is thinking "other people can understand why I did it but my own manager cant" I still wish Moyes mentioned why he did it even though it was still wrong

City got the penalty because their player went down like he'd been bodyslammed. Fellaini was getting all but buggered all game, yet he stayed on his feet.

So there it is. 'Playing the game' by City got them a point they never deserved and cost us two. It might have cost us another two against Stoke as if it's pen for city it should be a pen for us.

Also, who knows how many points playing without our best player and focal point will cost us.

At least we can all console ourselves with "we're not Kopites though" as we parade the 7th place shield.

BTW, for anyone who's ever played the game. If someone was kicking lumps out of you all game did you keep your cool and tell the ref what was going on?

Or did you just kick back and have a scrap or smash them with a naughty tackle etc. I bet not one person on here told the ref. Why do you expect Everton to aspire to higher morals than you applied to yourself in the game?

To be fair, they are professionals watched by millions of kids every week. I was guilty on occasion of this behaviour as a child, like, but I wouldn't do it as an adult...

I think this is the argument do you want to win at all costs or play by the rules and be at a disadvantage, its the same moral argument evertonians have regarding doing it the "right way" with BK or having a souless premier league winning side funded by some clueless arab royal

Seems a bit odd to me that people hold our club to a higher standard of morality than they apply to themselves.

It is mate. I advocate playing by the same rules as everyone else.

same mate when top 4 is up for grabs and the money that comes with it that could change this club for the next few years in terms of revenue, transfer budget and possible new sponsership deals I say fight fire with fire Im sick of seeing the ********s across the park, arsenal, manc clubs and chelski get away with murder whilst Moyes plays the divine crusader and we get nothing from it

Exactly!!

There was no way we could have tried to brush it under the carpet. Hopefully the FA will be more lenient because of Fellaini's swift apology.

Course not. It's there for all to see. If the way it's been handled gets him a lesser ban than I'm expecting (4 games) then it's a masterstroke, I just don't think it will.

Who has done that? As an adult who can control his anger enough not to assault someone on the pitch, I'd expect Fellaini, a paid pro, to do the same.

Surely it's obvious why it's more important for footballers, broadcasted on national television, to refrain from assaulting other players on the pitch than it is for a random fella on a park playing sunday league?

The decision hasn't even been made yet ffs.

Not really no. If your dead against it and think Moyes has handled it right and you wouldn't do it yourself then fine. I just reckon most would give the other fella a boot and all this moralising is nonsense if thats the case.

If other people would do it, that doesn't mitigate the seriousness of the offence. If you kick someone or slap them or butt them you should be punished accordingly. Prem players more so, as kids copy what they see on TV. There were always scraps in kids' games but now you see diving and injury feigning etc which is mental. Players and managers have a duty to condemn ridiculous behaviour like Felli's rather than seek to deflect attention away from it. Unless we want a new generation of Luis Suarez's

The way the sh*te handled the Suarez saga, for example, said to kids that: "it's fine to racially abuse someone and not only is it okay, it's something we're willing to support whole-heartedly". Madness. Thank God the FA didn't fall for their BS and nailed him with an 8 game ban. There are bigger issues on the table than where we're going to finish this season and I don't think this club shares the RS philosophy that their instichooshun is the most important thing on earth and that any decision going against them is part of a jealousy-driven witch-hunt.

For me there isn't. Footballs just a game of our team Vs thiers. If people are allowing thier kids to model themselves on footballers then thats thier problem. My All-time best player was Dunc. I weren't strangling people on the pitch. For me the only issue is how high can we finish up this league. If we pulled all the snide tricks the other clubs do and won the league it wouldn't take 0.0000000001% of the shine off it for me.

Just seen that Mo got three games. It appears the way Moyes handled it was correct, I owe him a drink.

There's a teabag in the post Dave.
