It was a while abo but as i recall I think he was asking for £65k but would have taken £60k but the club wouldn't budge from around £50k then suddenly offered Arteta £75k and he wasn't happy & surely that's understandable ?

It's about as 'understandable' as wanting to move to a club that is willing to tripple your wages, make you win trophies, and is located closer to your home.

I'm just struggling on how putting in a bad performance whilst you are still under contract is infinitely worse than refusing to play whilst you are under contract?

Mate I'm not having a pop at either of them , as I said earlier I have no faith in the 'loyalty' of football players . I personally disliked pienaar's 'mentally not right' to play & the way lescott spat his dummy out wasnt the shining example of loyalty fans hope for. My contribution in this thread is my opinion or when I know (or believe I know) just to add or clarify points.

I've said it earlier and I say it again 'players are c@nts' and once you realise that it all hurts a little less
