I couldn't agree more. I'm just confused as to why some people think Pienaar's behaviour was understandable, but think Lescott's behaviour is unforgivable.

Still, it's a small point to argue, the difference in travel time from the mids to Liverpool or Manchester can't be that great, but the difference to his career would have, and indeed has been, massive.

I fairness though I do understand the basis of the point that pienaar liked it here and wanted to stay however he was disappointed by the wage issue particularly in relation to Arteta and basically spat his dummy out. Also I never stick the boot in on agents as they are the players employee not vice versa but pienaar's agent has been with him since a very tough upbringing in south Africa and has a lot of influence and was very unhappy about the contract stuff.

The reality is some blame pienaar, some lescott and some both but the players pretty much dint give a sh1te as in the same position they'd be doing the same.
 

Football is a business, he'd improve our "business". Never felt more secure than when we had Jagielka and Lescott there.

A few people? Fair play. A couple thousand showed him support to which he didnt acknowledge them.

What he did was throw his toys out the pram and said he wasnt in the right mind to play in the opening game of the season because he wanted to move. That upset the team, a team that finished 5th and a FA cup final the previous season, to suffer a humiliating 6.1 defeat that set the tone for that season.

Going for money etc is all well and good. I dont mind that.

But to refuse to play in a game for a club that took a chance on him, made him who he is, and not respect the fans that showed him support against the inevitable is completely different.
