for sure a place on the bench has been well earnt! and well done lad! rooney at the same age was in the same place.

7 subs might give baxter more time than otherwise afforded. like 2-0 u at home to a decent mid table side... baxter might see the last 4 minutes.

moyes will hopefully guide him through to the first team without burnout.

So are people starting to see what I have been saying? Age has [Poor language removed] all to do with it, when you have talent, and this boy has talent.

Thought he did very little till his goal which gave him a bit of confidence. Gosling for me was the mom. Excellent game from him

Did you go?

I thought Rodwell was the best out of the three to be honest. Didn't loose the ball once and passed it well. Jose and Gosling also looked promising.

Yes i was there and posting from the car now on way back. Thought rodwell played very well as well. Thought agard was poor, all pace and no skill. My best mates were poor tonight at the back while JL was superb

I thought Jags, Nuno and Joleon where solid today. Neville got caught a few times though.

Agard reminds me of AJ. All pace, workrate but little skill.

1st proper look in the flesh at these young lads. Baxter looked like he had a bit skill but way short of making the step up just yet. Gosling looked very good on the ball and confident. Rodwell looks like he has progressed since last season and looks almost ready to at least make the grade if called upon

Well to be fair, I have thought the same thing about Vaughan and Anichebe. All blood and guts, but with very little skill.

I'd rather have Rodwell in midfield then Neville. Without a doubt. He's better on the ball, doesn't hoof it and covers the ground well. I wouldn't want him playing week in week out but if had has to come in when we had injuries I wouldn't be worried, he's so composed for his age and obviously has the physique to go with it.

Gosling I want to see more of. I thought he was good today and average against Preston, the talent is definatly there though.

Technically Jose has alot going for him and he's confident which makes it even better. I agree he's a little off but I can see him coming in towards the end of the season. Like Rodwell, Vaughan and Vic have alot been introduced.

Anyway, some nice prospect coming through add to that Vaughan and Anichebe and where looking good.

Vaughan is going to be better than all them for me, even better than Baxter I think. Not as technically gifted but intelligent, direct, good in the air and agressive. He's a potential all round striker and his attitude is almost Tim Cahill like, he's a winner.

Victor will be a decent Premier League striker if he keeps progressing. At the moment he's a bit of a battering ram and he needs to vary his game a bit. He's got more to his game than young Agard though. He's physically a monster for his age and has good pace aswell.

Gotta say on tonight's showing Gosling didn't look great. Plenty of effort but some very poor passing. Baxter was very lively and obviously scored a wonderful goal. Lukas and Agard didn't impress me up front. The number 18 who came on (don't know who it was as there was no PA and didn't recognise him) was pretty awful, 2 or 3 simple passes straight to the opposition and didn't offer much at all. Rodwell again looked very calm and assured though (y)
