Defence dilemma

I know this is probably a good dilemma to have, but what would your preferred back 4 be for the new season?

I like Baines, and feel that he deserves his chance but i cant see Moyes ever dropping Yobo or Lescott, and Jagielka had a very good season considering his dodgy start.

Do we drop Baines until someone gets injured and he gets his shot?
Do we drop Jagielka/Yobo and play Baines LB?
Do we drop Hibbert/Neville and play Jag RB?

or more exotically

Do we play 3 at the back and play Neville and Baines at Wing Backs?

And yes i realise we should be worrying about the midfield rather than the defence!

Personally I prefer Neville, Yobo, Lescott and Baines. Saying this though Jagielka's form at the moment means he's should be ahead of Yobo. With Yobo having troubles in Nigeria I'd expect Jagielka and Lescott to play centrally until he's back.

3-5-2 is a big no no. It doesn't work in England and never has. I don't think I can name a succesful side who have played that formation.

In England i'm talking about. The Dutch League is completely different.

Just making conversation.

I would love us to play 3-5-2 with Jags as the sweeper being supported by Lescott and Yobo. Baines would be a superb wing back and Neville could do a job too.

Terry Venables was pretty successful with England with it in Euro 96- although that could be argued it was 5-3-2 more than 3-5-2

It could work in Europe. I doubt It'd work in the League. It probably would suit some of our players though. The likes of Baines, Cahill, Johnson and Jags would revel in it.

I'm a big fan of the old, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it."

I'm confident that Moyes will start the season with Neville, Jags, Yobo, and Lescott and then work Baines in slowly.

Rest assured though that we will be seeing more of one Mr. Baines this season. (y)

I like the idea of 3-5-2, but you have to have two [Poor language removed] hot wide men to carry it off. Ashley Cole and Micah Richards would be nice! Glen Hoddle's a well-known devotee of the system and explained it on SKY so well one time he sold me on it...although that maybe had something to do with the fact that dinosaur Graeme Souness was sitting next to him raging that it was a [Poor language removed] system.

Jagielka is calss and shouldnt be dropped same with yobo and lescott. Baines is also good...so id say, and sorry for saying this...

Jagielka - Yobo - Lescott - Baines

Neville

Now i know the whole "neville in midfield thing, but that was when we had carsley, you never know he might be good on his own. Failing that play jagielka defensive mid, or a 5-4-1 with two wing backs.

Why not just drop Neville? He's not a midfielder. Jagielka isn't either to be honest.

i think our best back 4 last season was neville yobo jags lescott.
