With different rumours circulating about David Moyes' contract situation, if the worst was to happen and David Moyes ended up leaving, would anyone fancy Alan Irvine as the man to replace him. He was here for 5/6 years so he knows all about the club and the demands of the fans, and he did a fantastic job at Preston last season steering them away from relegation.

Good question.

I probably would prefer a more well known and proven manager to try and take us to the next level.

Irvine might very well be a top drawer manager someday but I'd like to see him cut his teeth where he is for the time being.

I imagine most Everton supporters would want a "name" manager as well.

Welcome to GOT.

I'd push for Bilic, even if we had no chance of getting him here.

:o You must be joking the same Bilic who played for us for years after being the most expensive british defender and acted like he didn't give a damn. Why not bring Nyarko in as his assistant?

Simple as we couldnt get better then Moyes!

I wouldnt mind someone with Prem expierence, if i am honest i would probably go with Sam Alladyce assisted by an up and coming manager like Brian Laws! I know that wouldnt be a popular chioice.

Ive always felt that Joe Royals time at the club was to short but more in a director of football role!

Nope, Moyes will sign as there's no other jobs he'd want at the mo, Bilic would be nice though in a few years.

Yeah... I mean the last thing we'd want is a young manager from a club like Preston, with no Prem experience... I mean, when has that ever ended well? b):P

Martin O'Neil would be great but the chances of landing him are slim. Other than that, I can't think of anyone that would get me excited. Hoddle isn't bad, and would at least promote technical skills. But Moyes is a difficult act to follow and only O'Neil, I think, matches him outside of the Champions League gravy train.

I think Moyes will stay. Whatever the press have said or whatever the rumour mill produces, the quotes from Kenwright and Moyes have always been supportive of each other. I think they both deserve a lot of respect and trust from us for what they have done for the club.

But the question was 'If the worst happens'. If the worst happened I do think that Bilic would be a good choice. He still looks passionate about the game. Or failing that, would anyone consider Klinsman?

Yeah Agreed, I would be very surprised if Moyes left.

Isn't Klinsmann taking over Bayern Munich next month?

Moyes already stated earlier that he will be Everton manager next season,so he intends to honour his contract and is any one suprised by that ?.As for a replacement that will be extremely difficult any leading manager would look at the way Moyes has had to beg and threaten to walk out to get any cash for transfers and ask himself if its worth it .if Moyes departs out of frustration of empty promises by Kenwright then Bill should also go as getting a good replacement will be impossible with him in the chair.

i agree with bilic being a good choice . i dont agree with the him bleeding us dry comment though.
if my memory serves me right when he played he played well. he picked up a bad injury and the club said he was finished and cancelled his contract , where as bilic said he wasnt finished and the contract should stand.

the club payed big money and big wages , players get injured and imo the club where in a bad situation and the player got the shitty end of the stick.

the trouble at the time was we had 3 big players on big contracts with bad injurys.williamson parkinson and billic.

if i was in bilic's shoes i wouldnt have been happy with the club either.

if moyes did ever leave though there is 2 names which i really like.....steve coppell and alex mcleash.
