I could still do him for pace.

Could I [Poor language removed]. I can't sit down without warming up. What happens when you hit 35? God I'm old.

First game of the season got beat 3-2. Bad ref and 3 sloppy goals conceded. Second game played some awesome footy 2-0 up at half time. The ref was a joke we got 9 yellows and a red. Manager was booked for asking ref to count the yards for a free kick! I was booked for appealing for a free kick. So second half lost our head and a man.
Third game against top of the league who won their last game 10-0. We smashed them 6-1. 6-0 at halftime.
Fourth game we won 3-2, 3-1 at half time. I missed this game after pulling my groin slightly playing with a few of the lads on here.

Lads u10's won at home 9-1, last minute goal spoiling the record of not yet conceding. Played 2nd half with pretty much everyone out of position as well.

Lovely Morning as well to cement that position at the Top of the League.

3 league games played, scored 22 conceded 1.

Played 5 a side on thursday, ref was against us throughout hence losing our 6/7 game winning streak lost 12-10 in the dying minutes

Just been promoted.

must be some kind of record ? formed 2 months ago, played 3 and the rest have waved the white flag and said move 'em up.

1st Game is the other team from our club, that have been together for 3 years and we beat after 1 training session.

Derby Day !!

My first soft tissue injury! A mate of landed with his hip on my ankle and now it's swollen. I wrapped it and put it up and gave it some cold. Any other suggestions? Should I ease it a bit as it's getting numb lol.

I'm playing on Wednesday evening, first 11-a-side game on a full sized pitch I've played in about 12 years. On astro-turf as well!

Am supposed to be playing left back but was just asked do I want to play higher up in central midfield.

Wish me luck this could be a disaster  :D

I coached the lads 5yr old here in Houston, through the YMCA.
My little lad plays in our team.
Anyways, first practice session on Thursday last week, not bad to be fair, got some players, some not so much...
First game on Saturday (just gone) and we stormed it 10-0!!! The opposition barely got out of their own half - it was embarassing. I'd have been livid if we'd have been on the wrong end of that scoreline.
Don't get me wrong - there's no structure, positioning or owt, they all just run round like headless chickens - 10 players (5 v 5) just chasing the ball, but still - 10-0!!!
One of my lads - Diego - he's definitely got some skills. Rode a challenge out on the sideline, then cut in from the right and buried it with his left. He also scored straight from their goal kick - volleyed it straight back in.

Had a great weekend, watched us play Swansea off the park in the morning, then 10-0 in the afternoon!!!

Until October last year I have played 11 a side in goal solidly for 15 seasons on a Saturday and Sunday. Saturdays with the same team every season and only missed one game (a friendly) as I got married that day!! Been blessed with injuries as I have only really suffered injuries where I could still play and I think the worse thing to effect my game was illness more than any injury.

Roll on to October last season (2011), and after telling my young team mates suffering from a hangover the same above story about never being injured, I dislocated my shoulder whilst making a quite superb save point blank at the back post! It did not hurt at first and despite actually felling like the arm was not there and that I could not move it, I refused to go off. It was not until my best mate put his hands on my shoulders and told me not to be a P**** that I noticed his hand was a good few inches below the other one where it was resting on my shoulder. A trip to A&E and I will admit by that time I was crying like a girl and had snot everywhere. Was wearing a nice new Under Armour top as well that got cut straight off. Extent of injury was my left shoulder had dropped just over 3 inches and the arm twisted so that the palm of my hand was facing upwards. The real damage was blood vessels and muscles inside the shoulder.

I was able to make a small comeback in the new year where I managed 3 games, but the pain was just too much for me and I took the advice of my doctor and retired from the game at the age of 35. I still get really severe pains now almost a year later. Gutted really as I had plans to play way into my 40's. Pre season has been hard as you do miss it, but Sunday I went to watch my old team and the rain was bad. Have to say I did not miss playing in that weather!

15 years in a team and you didn't invite the lads to the wedding ?

you must get some awful underhit backpasses now mate.

They all came to the evening! Ive had a few dodgy back passes over the years, shanked one or two into my own net too!

In them 15 years I have played only in goal, never out on pitch, booked once, sent off once, scored 11!
