Forget Aaron Ramsy

Please believe me when I say that I really do hate making a post like this and hope that I am wrong. I'm the sort of person who is basically an optimist and hate all things negative, but under these circumstances, I feel compelled to get this off my chest. IMO we have more chance of signing Gordon Ramsey than Aaron. The whole fiasco stinks of a phantom bid. It is not dissimilar to many we have done in the past, ie, Alan Shearer, Alan Smith and seems almost identical to the Nigel Martyn debacle under Agent Johnson. Let me elaborate:
Put yourselves for a moment in the shoes of Aaron Ramsey. Three teams have made a “concrete” bid for you. Firstly it's off to see Davie Moyes of Everton. Although you have never been a boyhood fan of The Blues, you go with excitement and an open mind. But you are not met by DM. You are however met by a guy in a suit you have never heard of. Disillusioned and possibly a little insulted you go to the second club, Manchester United. You are greeted by Sir Alex and given the VIP treatment. You are then put on a plane by Arsenal and flown to Switzerland to meet Wenger.
Which team would you go for, or should I say which team would you definitely not sign for. Of course, it's obvious, but Billy Liar and Fat Keith must think we are all deluded. I now quote the Cardiff chairman, Peter Risdale, who said: “I spoke to Aaron on Friday. He told me he’d had a great day at United and was on his way to see Arsene. After that the final decision is up to the boy. Aaron spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson before visiting United. He’s a sensible lad.”
Like I said, I hope I'm wrong....but do you believe for one moment we have a chance? Or like me do you believe that this is just another ploy by the board to keep us quiet?
Let's hope Ramsey has a complete brainstorm and decides on us. Kenwright and Wyness would [Poor language removed] themselves. And what must Moyes be thinking about this thinly veiled attempt pulling the wool over us yet again?
Everton FC deserves better than this.
Rant Over. :@

Well as that is your opinion i would suggest if you have anymore like that you keep it to yourself, alot of your post was wrong, and the fact you think moyes would bid 5mil to match the 2 biggest (IMO) clubs in england and not meet him is pathetic mate

No big surprise!

Moyes did fly back from Switzerland to speak to Ramsey (Aaron). And whilst flattered he was honest enough to inform Moyes that he was only considering Arsenal and Man U. Moyes thanked the boy for his honesty and appreciated his forthrightness. So on this occasion it was not a phantom bid to appease us Blues.

I can quote a source but doubt it would make a difference as to whether it would be be believed.

In my opinion, thats the worst opening post of any thread ever on here.

There are so many things daft about it. I'll go through them tomorrow if I have got the time. The main ones being the utter guesswork and claiming it to be a phantom bid  We bid for him last summer.... if we wanted to excite fans, am sure they would go for someone a bit more high profile.

If we never bid for him, no doubt you would be spouting about lack of ambition.

If your going to post such nonsense, i'd advise the peoples forum.

This just about puts the post - the mindless ramblings of a madman - that started this thread to shame.

"Almost every football-mad teenager in Britain would love the chance to choose between three of the Premier League's leading clubs but for Aaron Ramsey, who has been in that privileged position since Saturday night, picking one from Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton must also have felt like an ordeal. While getting on to a private jet to see Arsène Wenger is the stuff of dreams, making such a crucial decision at the age of 17 is more likely to induce sleepless nights.
At least a remedy was close at hand last night as the Cardiff City midfielder appeared to be on the verge of finalising his future, with Arsenal emerging as the favourites to secure his signing ahead of Everton and then Manchester United. Both United and Everton were expected to make one final attempt to turn Ramsey's head, however, something that the Welshman will no doubt have anticipated following the gruelling but exhilarating events of the past nine days.
Ever since Ramsey returned to Cardiff airport at the beginning of the month, following Wales's friendly with Holland in Rotterdam, almost every mobile phone call and text message he has received has concerned where he will play next season. Those close to Ramsey claim he has a wonderful temperament and is not fazed by anything on the pitch, though it is difficult to believe he has felt comfortable being the subject of such intense speculation.
The frenzy surrounding Ramsey went into overdrive last Tuesday when Manchester United, to the surprise of just about everyone other than Manchester United, issued a statement on their website claiming that the Premier League champions were "delighted to announce it has agreed terms with Cardiff City for the transfer of Aaron Ramsey subject to terms being agreed and the player passing a medical".
Cardiff subsequently pointed out they had received three bids for Ramsey and that he had been given permission to speak to two of the clubs. Two would soon become three when Everton followed Arsenal's £5m offer, leaving United looking as though they had jumped the gun, although perhaps not without intention. By placing their interest in the public domain, and making it look as though the deal was sealed, United had cranked up the pressure on Ramsey's shoulders.
To make things more difficult, Cardiff made it clear they would rather Ramsey joined United than Arsenal or Everton because the Championship club had been promised the player would return to Ninian Park on a season-long loan. Ramsey, his parents, and his advisers were keen to look at the broader picture, however, and 24 hours later those three parties were in David Moyes's company and considering the advantages of joining a club where there would be first-team opportunities.
While the latter will always be of primary concern to a young player eager to establish himself, parents are also likely to be swayed by knowing that their son will have no problems off the field. Meeting the manager face-to-face is thought to be crucial to that process and United may well come to regret that Sir Alex Ferguson was on holiday when Ramsey visited the club's Carrington training facilities on Friday, 24 hours after his meeting with Moyes.
Wenger was also out of the country, but, at Arsenal's expense, the Ramsey family were flown to Switzerland on a private jet on Saturday morning to meet the Frenchman for lunch. It was familiar territory for Wenger, with the Arsenal manager having persuaded Cesc Fábregas and Theo Walcott among others that their development as a player would be safest in his hands. He was also able to give Ramsey assurances he would not go out on loan.
With personal terms at all three interested clubs never going to be an issue - Ramsey need not worry about working again once he has signed his first contract as a Premier League player - the teenager could contemplate the best decision for his career as he flew back to south Wales on Saturday night. It has been a testing period for Ramsey, although those pupils he sat alongside when taking his GCSEs last year would gladly swap places."

BBC Breaking new !!! Ramsey joins Arsenal

9:00 am just heard that BBC 24 says that Ramsey has joined Arsenal. Good choice if not us, but is he too british for them?

the correct decision. blue glasses off ofcourse.

we never had a prayer really. although it was nice the media took our offer seriously.

and man u can f off. looks like ferguson not meeting him made a difference afterall. he's letting it slip perhaps?

Forget him, so what's about Joe Ledley? any news about this guy.

I don't rate Ledley at all, mate. I admit that I've only see him one game, but he looked distinctly like championship/lower premier league quality. Maybe he'd be more at home in that environment.

To be honest buddy, the same was said about Cahill and Lescott and they stepped up to the plate adequately. I think Ledley could make that step up also. I hope so anyway.
