I am with you on that front tex, in that we need to get a much bigger squad, it would be great to be able to rotate..but i have also seen this lad lately and he is barely championship quality let alone prem lol

Also all i was told is we had signed him, no idea about contract lengths or anything like that. I hope it isnt true..surely we can get better, yes its going to cost us to build a great squad, yes it will take time, but we need quality and indepth, and I cant see this player providing it.

Lads Carr is quality if this is true and its a big if, i would be delighted!

I am not speaking out of my arse, i have seen him live on many occasions, he was the best right back in the Prem before his injury difficuties. He had the afore mentoned Joauquan in his pocket in the world cup and i have seen him do the same to the likes of Malouda and Ribery on the international stage! You should see the corsses thislad can put in.

Still dont think its true though, excellent addition to the squad if it is.

Have to agree.

People think 'Cant even get a game for Newcastle, hes getting on, hes free, must be crap'. But hes actually a very good right back.

If this is true I don't really have a problem with it. I've said before that I think our first XI when everyone is fit is not far off being spot on. So the main thing I'm looking for this summer will be adding numbers to the squad as we've looked horrificly short of players at times this season. Not that I'd say no to Joaquin going into the starting line up though :P

For free we haven't really lost anything if Carr never has to play, just an insurance policy (y)

for a championship side, not a team that has to fight villa, city, spurs etc and also challenge to break into the top 4, surely there must be a better right back somewhere..then we can play a back 4 with baines in left, I like baines as a player.

The pooint moyes made , quality in depth...not just grabbing any free players to add to the squad dispite their age...what about that player albeda or whatever his name is..he said to be in this early 30's.

For me, after his display against us, I wouldn't have minded Glen Johnson but unfortunately, he'd have cost us just a bit more and that's assuming Portsmouth would have wanted to sell.

But I think he'd be a definte improvement over Hibbert and Neville.

So what happens if god forbid, Hibbert and Neville pick up injuries?

We need a squad. The bigger signings will come, but if we got Carr, i dont see any reason to moan.

Some might see that as a blessing.:lol::lol:

I dont get it, his contract does'nt finish with newcastle till end of june. How can he have signed for us?

He's not a bad player thou, an for free could be worth a punt.

Is this one big [Poor language removed] wind up! [Poor language removed] sake moyes, sort ya [Poor language removed] out lad!

Mate what are you basing this on do you know how many times he was in the Prem tem of the year, he has played in major international tournaments, and had some of the best players in the world in his pocket, if he passes a medical thats the only concern i would have. If it is true and i am beigining to think due to your reaction that your mates are windeing you up this is an excellent addition.

It seems like your judgement is based on Keggan letting him go on a free, never really the ost spend thrift or econmomical manager int he world. While i would hardly call Keegan the all knowing demi god of judgeing a good defender the names Hottiger and Albert spring to mind!

Carr is quality fact! Do have the same Neville fear though.

my kids are better than hibbert, we need quallity.
if it is true this means moyes is happy with neville and hibbert and has got him for cover.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgh! Wish these 30yr olds names that keep poppin up would just [Poor language removed] off! 2-3yrs ago, yeah, maybe.

But lets build to the future. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
