2025/26 David Moyes

"It's not been good enough recently and you can't give it the big 'un in the media about Europe and then be so feeble in the matches." 100%THIS.
I was thinking about this...maybe Moyes isnt as bad as I think, but I dont think hes as good as legendary as others portray him. I think because of his longevity and his stints in media as a pundit, he has been elevated in the media's eyes as an "elder statesman of British football managers" but hie resume is not really that impressive. The thing that irks me is this version of Moyes seems to believe his own media hype and comes across as condescending and above reproach and he just needs better tools...
I don't think anyone portrays him as legendary tbf 😆

I will say that last night prematch I was questioning Rohl at RW as ridiculous but it turned out it was to counter O'Reilly who had his quietest game in a while.
I also wanted Tim hooked at HT who went on to have a brilliant 2nd half.
I was fuming seeing Barry come on thinking he'd get bullied by their defenders but he had a great appearance.
I was wrong on all 3 and Moyes was right!
We drew with a team in incredible form that were fighting for the title and if we are to criticise Moyes for not seeing it out we need to credit him for us having something to see out in the first place.
He was also as annoyed as I was in his post match presser and I appreciate he didn't sugar coat by giving it the old 'phenomenal' or the like

With JB out there is only Coleman or Patterson otherwise, if JOB moves to the centre.

Would either of those two have done better against Doku?

Given that JOB was getting schooled all game, I suppose you could argue it.

Patto came on and Doku scored immediately tho…

Absolute prio #1 first signing this summer must be an RB.

Giving Seamus a gift contract and not signing a rb in two windows and playing a CB out of position all year, should be reason enough to have ownership wondering about next yea

The sense of entitlement on this site is off the scale.
We have been fighting relegation for 4 seasons, with zero investment or have people been in a coma?
The squad is thin by PL league standards and we will get a solid mid table finish with an outside chance of Europe.
That is progress.
We need another 4 or 5 quality signings to get back to get to where we belong.
And I would rather trust Moyes with the rebuild than a Potter or Rosinior.
Well hopefully our other choices are not just Potter or Rosinior:) as for Moyes "rebulding"...looking at the likes of McGinn, Soucek and Stones, sounds more like a short term and short sighted remortgage at bad interest rates than a rebuild:)

I think David Moyes has done remarkably well in his short time back at Everton.

Twelve months ago he was being complimented for dragging us away from relegation, now he is being criticised for possibly not reaching Europe.

My only concern about DM is longevity. He is heading towards his mid sixties in what is the most stressful job imaginable.
The owners will need to look at this in the longer term as well if they are going to be spending large amounts recruiting new players.

The possibility that managers like Glassner and Iraola may be available is also something that needs to be considered.
For me , the job done by Iraola is remarkable , between last summer and January he has had his best players sold and still has them in a European place.

Look at Villa without McGinn in the team, he is a massive loss when not playing. No chance are they selling, and with champions league on the cards he wont be pushing for a move..

Did you say, "Always rated the lad" after Barry scored? If so, you filled in my bingo card too!! 😆

you know what I mean. And in fairness to Thelwell, he did a way better recruitment job than Moyes in his last two windows.
Yeah. So he found a good eleven and stuck with it. Seems pretty sensible to me.

The idea that chopping and changing is good is a new phenomenon that goes against all logic.

I’ll be interested to see if Rohl has earned his spot now. He performed very well.

Also, doesn’t the progress he has made with this same set of players speak to the quality of the coaching? He did similar at West Ham with many of the old underperforming players having the form of their lives.

You can always tell when you've been done when you post stuff like that. Its a passive retreat. You wouldnt even be on here if it had stayed 3-2. You'd be on some conspiracy site somewhere chatting sh!t.

Keep on defending the mediocre.

No wonder we've won f.a. for 30 odd years.

"Well in Moyesiah. Brilliant point against City that"

He's been willing for the last few managers to lose against City, now cos Moyesy has the audacity to try and beat them and come within seconds of victory, he wants him out 🤣🤣. What a tit, mind you, all kopites are 🤷‍♂️😀
